independence public speaking questions

Hi everyone.

My youngest is doing his public speaking at primary school and the subject is independence.

He has gone with the yes campaign and has written a well structured speech. Hes has lots of good points regarding welfare being able to afford it etc and things but as part of the debate the judges will ask him a question on what he has written.

I am looking for good questions to ask him about it to help him practice.

any help with questions would be great.

Please remember hes 11.

If there's a Yes vote but negotiations with the UK, the Bank of England and the EU etc don't go a smoothly as Salmond insists they will, what is plan B?

PS. The 'official ' answer is "there is no plan B".

Although the snp believe that the royal family should be retained in the case of a Yes vote, is this something he agrees with? Or would he opt for an elected head of state? Or a different royal family? If a seperate royal family, how should they a) be selected b) be maintained? If they are maintained by the public purse how far down the 'line' should this maintinace go?

Although some of these questions may seem above his age group I believe they are things worthy of his concideration.

Thanks for this one. His speach only focuses on the case for independence so theres no mention of europe in his so cannae ask him that lol

part of the economic plan set out in the white paper, the income from the crown estate would no longer go to the monarch but will go to the treasury. How should this income be used and should it be ringfenced for for community based projects.

One really clear argument that even those on then no side would struggle with is the democracy question. So at his level it might be a good, clear argument to have at the ready.

Scotland has 1 Tory out of 59 seats. But the prime minister is Tory. One can argue therefore that Scotland isn't democratic under the current system.
