Honey is best, stay away from acidic fruits and juices as that makes it worse

U can also mix it with limon juice. Tea spoon of olive oil give a straight away result as well. If u cant handle the taste mix it with some sugar and suck it slowly

I hope the OP is not trying every single suggestion one after one. You'll end up with funny mixture in your stomach

you'll be pleased to know that I haven't and I've resorted to taking venos cough medicine, drinking warm drinks and sucking lots of sweeties. Seems to be doing the trick, though do sound like a bloke sometimes trying to clear my throat

I've found gargling with a lukewarm salt or bicarb solution helpful.

It does taste rank though....

Or gargling with Corsodyl. Read the instructions about tooth staining though.

Chocolate is NOT good for a sore throat!

It can make it worse!

Sucking on some licorice helps. That's licorice root not licorice allsorts!

If trying a spoon of honey, it'll work best if you have it with a few whole peppercorns, which you can chew.

Also gargle with warm water regularly with salt in it or even better an aspirin.

Thanks but don't like liquorice. Have been sucking on honey and lemon strepsils for the last few days.
