"Just the latest in a string of non-announcements which will continue until the Neverendum shows Eck just how out of touch he is." for fekks sake, should have known you would turn this into another attempt to malign alex salmond. Can you ever respond to the actual question thats asked.

Telling the truth cannot be construed as an attempt to malign." what you mean _nny is the truth as you see it( otherwise known as an opinion) you state that salmond is out of touch on this. Does that mean you think the £3.85 per week tax break shared between 2 people (as long as you are married) is a policy which is in touch ? or would retaining the £700 million in tax revenue, the policy is estimated to cost and using it to provide essential services. Is this also out of touch ?

And it's only going to get worse/more intense as we get nearer the great day! And I hope that Alex Salmond will be publishing a simple list of all these 'gives' and 'takes', with their associated costs and savings. But then, that would be getting into the realms of transparency, which is a concept that AS seems to struggle with!!

" You make a fair point, however i will again as i have done on numerous occasions come back to the point of why feel the need to lay the behaviour and nature of politics at the feet of one individual instead of all politicians. this is simply a tactic being used (as it has in many political campaigns) to distract the populous from the issues at hand and have them focussed on personalities instead. that said can i remind anyone reading that i didnt post a question about independance, it is a question asking what people think of the policy of a tax break for married couples.

"to my mind the whole tax syatem is an unfair one dependant on lifestyle and other things depends how much you pay scrap the lot after a decent new taxation system is found is the only solution you cant fix whats broken beyond repair " cant disagree with you on that, the uk tax code runs to somewhere in the region of 11000 pages. Way too complex and much too easy for big business to avoid paying taxes. A simpler more straightforward system would be better.

I agreed with the second post... then my view on SNP judging by the rest of the off topic stuff I do view as an attempt, an opinion that can change. And yes, anything that Westminster does for Scotland until the Referendum, in my opinion, is an attempt to buy votes. Delivering these promises after a Yes or No vote is a whole other topic which is based on opinion.
