So who prefers what ?

Does anyone still have the proper new year parties like they done years ago.

I love Xmas now again due to the fact I have a grandaughter ,but new year has always been an emotional time of year for me.

Both the same for me, family time, lots of food and the occasional glass of bubbly! I've only been out once for new years and it was eventful...never again!!

Not really one for either although i do enjoy spending more time with daughter and enjoying her delight at this time of year.

N'year i tend to reflect on the year thats passed in a sober manner, take stock and make some decisive decisions which have been a monkey on my back.

Xmas all the way.

New Year isn't the same. I know a lot of people don't get 02nd off any more.

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Christmas is my preference, I think the times of party's where your door was open and all the neighbours and their granny came are well gone .

No one planned parties then they just happend and that's what was great about them the preparations and waiting for that first knock at the door to see who your first foot was going to be xxx

We enjoy Christmas, probably because on the day itself its a relief its all over and we can relax....new yr doesn't have the same appeal as before, maybe a sign of being older and not so enthusiastic about partying.

Can just about cope with Christmas but I hate the New Year with a passion. I turn into an emotional wreck....best thing about it for me is Jools Hollands Hootenanny

Neither. Have no enthusiasm for christmas and New year is anniversary of losing friends, plural in a car accident.

Always brings it.back.

Bastille day perhaps!

Used to have great times at both Christmas and New Year, but things and times change, sadly!

Nowadays, look forward to 3rd January and the return to some form of normality!

It would have to be Christmas for me but as the kids get older the magic is wearing off. I think the famed parties of my childhood are gone because every weekend can be like the New Year, many people could only afford to have "drink" in the house is because they saved all year for the Ner'day bottles . I remember my granny having saved stamps in Agnews for the carry out.
