" A man famous world wide, for a weapon built over 75 million times."

I know who he is. I just have no idea why you'd want him to rest in peace given that his invention is responsible for the death of thousands of innocent people at the hands of terrorists all over the world.

He invented a weapon system, his reward was typical of his country. The fact that it was exported worldwide, is secondary to the fact he created a weapon. I have saw it used by enemy and friend, it was the most common system to utilise. Someone else, would have eventually created something like it.

We never agree on this. So I wish you luck with your thread and your guns

You are, I think, deliberately using evocative language just for a response. Sweet and gun in the same sentence for example.

Anything to drive folks to your profile perhaps.

Not in the slightest, you ever gone on the range and had a cabby on some weaponry? It's a blast, one of the reasons why i signed up all those years ago.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people if it wasn't a firearm it would be something else.

during (42/43) russians had a design competition and he won, cant say i blame him for it meant that he and his were moved to a place of safety instead of being cannon fodder.

One of the reasons you joined UK forces was to have a "cabby" on some weaponry ? How patriotic and nobel of you. This 100% shows the difference between a soldier and a squaddie.

Never met anybody who signed the line and didn't want to get their hands on the guns and get onto the ranges with them. It would be the oddest of toms that didn't want to fire something

A weapon system, be that a sidearm all the way up to a hunter killer submarine is a tool to be used by a member of the armed forces as a last resort, modern sane thinking members or the armed forces know and embrace that.

We enjoy the feeling of mastering a system because it gives us a personal feeling of achievement, but the same could be said about mastering a kitchen blender.
