Saddest Film Scene...

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

As an antidote the the sexiest film post.

How about posting your saddest ones...

Here's some of our tearjerkers (spoiler alerts)

Notebook. Pretty much all of it. But the scene where Noah cries "I wrote you everyday for a year"

And the final scenes when Ali comes back to Noah for the last time...(feck me I'm welling up here and this us Dexter posting)

Untamed Heart. The scene is the cafe when Christian Slater quietly slips away.

Let's get the weekend off to a great start.

Post your tearjerker and....

By midday the whole of the Fab Scotland forum will be in bits....sitting at their laptops in pyjamas with heaps of tissues lying around the floor for a completely different reason than usual...

The death of Bambi's mother. It traumatized a lot of little kids that saw that movie. Steven Spielberg even recalled in his childhood waking up in the middle of the night and going to his parents' room to check if they were both still alive.

In Bambi 2, Bambi's dream where he thought he saw his mother, ran up to nuzzle her, only to wake up and realize that he was nuzzling a rock.

"Your mother...can't be with you anymore."

"We made it, mother!"

Arguably Bambi's Disney Death in the midquel. Yeah, no one in the audience is going to believe he is dead, but the Great Prince sure did.

After being told to leave with a surrogate mother, a heartbroken Bambi argues with his father for seemingly rejecting him, basically telling him he wishes he was dead. As he prepares to leave with the mother deer later however, he turns back and nussles his father one last time. The Great Prince remains still, but his despondent expression says it all.

Not quite a tearjerker but i went to see SHORT TERM 12 yesterday, somehow it manages to be tragic and uplifting, ugly and beautiful. A fantastic piece of filmmaking without the usual american sentimentality, go see it if you get the chance.

The start of Saving Private Ryan, on the beach. The guy with his guts hanging out screaming for his mother. Heartbreaking.

The Pianist, where the little boy is trying to climb under the wall, or when they throw the old man from the balcony. Or essentially any other part of that film.
