hard up posh folk are turning to shoplifting to maintain their lifestyle as times get hard and living standards slip on every level, who's feeling the pinch? and who's been tempted to take a five finger discoubt at their local marks and spensers? has anyone any stories of posh pals pinching or have we witnessed anyone shoving steaks up their jumpers or down their pants? lol

I had a regular customer, retired professor who took to shopifting but it was more a of a cry for help as he was struggling with his mental health. Mostly down to having lost his wife after nursing her through a serious illness.

sad story.

Also a man from west end of glasgow who was property rich, but cash poor and barely able to put food on the table. He was caught a number of times and often seen raiding skips and bins.

Just remembered a woman i caught stealing, middle class and middle aged. she came into the shop every day, browsing through hairdyes, but never bought any. Turned out she was taking one item out of box each day and putting box back on the shelf.

crafty buggers eh,im thinking of doing some reverse shoplifting and taking things i dont want into the shop and leaving it,for example the one can of "magic" mushy green peas ive had for about 14 years,i wonder if anyone would then try to steal it lol theyd need to be seriously hard up to do that and theyd be in for the surprise of their life

We once caught a lady shoplifting a bottle of vodka.

But when we realised HOW she had done it and the fact it was still there - we let her go with her spoils and a lifetime ban from the store

I think you know EXACTLY where it was - she was wearing a skirt!!!! We saw her crouch down on camera and stand back up again and it was gone!! Not one of us was willing to ask for it back and she was stood there for a good 10 mins before we let her go - never sat down when we offered her a chair though lol

id sooner let it slide with someone who like a fire person or nurse who have contributed tirelessly to society rather than someone who has made no contribution at all

Ingenious shoplifter.

Early december a few years ago in hmv on argyle street seen a guy dressed all in black with an id badge round his neck pick up a pile of dvds, hands at waist height chin resting on top, he walked straight out the door.

Saw him later at the barras selling the dvds, spoke to him as browsed through the dvds and he said they think hes a xmas temp and dont challenge him.
