It's a pump fault , if it's a hotpoint anyway. You need to find the pump, either at the bottom front or the bottom rear, sometimes behind a flap. If there's a screw cap , open it and clear out the impeller( usually blocked by hair, coins, keys, etc, lol) if it's got pipes, unclip them and clear them. Can be an easy job, sometimes better left to an engineer.

Look behind the flap at the front at the bottom for a screw cap. Be careful though, as you open it the water will drain out so you'll need a couple of towels

Clean it out and hey presto

You CANT make it worse. I've done it a few times for people. It's usually a small sock or hair band or clump of fluff.

It takes 30 mins max to do, like I said, pop the cover off the front at the bottom and it's behind that on the bottom right of the machine. It's a specially designed trap that stops stuff going through the pump

Just remember the towels to catch the water as there will be plenty in the machine still and it WILL drain out as you open the trap

Good luck and let us know how you get on

To try and stop the water draining, pull the machine out and tip it back, put something under Meath to keep it at the tilt before screwing the cap and be ready with the towels!! Unscrew the cap until the water comes slowly, don't take it right off or you'll get a flood, but it's an easy fix
