FabSwingers.com forum: Dinner Wear: Just How Casual Is Casual?

Hoping some of you might be able to help me out here.

I'm attending an evening event at a local restaurant, almost an invitation only sort of thing, and it say's dress code casual.

It's one of those 4 course and wine tasting evenings.

Obviously I don't want to turn up in jeans and a band t-shirt, but at what point does what I wear become too formal?

I've got dress jeans, a smart grandad neck t-shirt that I was gonna pair off with a cool t waistcoat and I would wear a suit jacket over the top.

Is that sufficiently smart/casual enough or is it over the top? I don't want to turn up looking like some tramp is all...

Perhaps it's the circles I run in, but I got told only recently that I looked like a young Han Solo ha ha, and it was meant as a compliment. I got it out of Zara menswear almost 10 years ago and it's never gone wrong on the occasions I wear it. T was always something my Grandad wore so I had the same doubts as to how cool it could be. I guess it's all to do with how you rock the look I suppose.

On a slightly more serious note, casual in menswear has pretty much become - don't wear a tie.

Beyond that only modestly limits your imagination.

I would wear (if I were a bloke which Im not lol) a pair of smart jeans and a shirt without a tie. Hope you have a fabby evening xx

T, especially Harris, is an ageless look.

And quality never goes out of fashion.

T is now more popular than ever and the height of fashion.

Why not set it off with a crisp white cotton shirt maybe collarless and pair of brown lace leather soled brogues...

You could then get away with a pair of good jeans
