I would say definately yes. I have convo's with people in it, some people just about manage to say hi and bye to each other. The chatrooms are what YOU make of it. If you chat to people then they will chat back, if not then you will sit there not saying a word.

I think the chat room is like "life" you get what you put into it. If all you say is "hi n bye" thats all folks are going to say to you.

Me I just speak s***e lol but usually someone answers or joins in.

Hes probably aiming that Jo and Me...

Quite often many people will be doing other stuff on the site, on the 'net, on the PC or as chat mods I will be looking at profiles, pics etc. I will swap windows every wee while just to check all is in order and maybe have a short burst of chatting, then back to browsing.

Also, many people will be whispering each other, rather than saying stuff in main room. We also do that a lot, especially if its people we have met and discussing something that should be kept out the main room.

Maybe cos of Grids more senior years he cant multi task so well?

Multitasking isn't to with age, it is to do with what sex you are as to wether you can do it or not !

It is true though, it isn't always possible to chat in chat when you are trying to mod too ....and not just when you are off doing other things on other sites, but when it is really busy it is sometimes hard to do both.

But Mr Grids I am guessing knows this really as he was one once

K Grid ur prob not gonna like what i have to say and in no way is it ment to offend...

just because ppl arent chatting to you doesnt mean they arent chatting!!!! most ppl (with the exclusion of the lurkers) chat away, most to their friends that they have made through the site but newbies are also included if they put in a bit of an effort to talk.

you dont really in my opinion put in alot of effort ... you are always very welcoming with your "hellos" but very rarely do u try to strike up a convo with ppl after that...

i think the way forward on chat is to join in at all times, stop moaning if ppl miss your hello as u know as well as everyone else how fast chat can/does move and its not always possible to catch everything.

i think in the last few months you seem to have lost your spark and take things personally when they really arent intended to be and it would be great if u could get your mojo back so to speak.

I agree with the lovely tands. You get out of chat what you put in.... I generally waffle a load of shite, and get shite back, lol... Other people just like to sit back and watch, while others just whisper.... I do tend to agree thats when its very busy, there's little chance of having a good convo

I dive into ppls convos head first.... they not told me to fuck off, yet!

And Grid, you chat across the virtual room to your wife and if your shag pals are in without seeing what ppl say to you, so looks like we're all the same when caught up in convos.

life overtook me years ago and can't keep up with it....so how the hell am i supposed to keep up with chat????

tend to find if ya jump in to a convo folks will chat....and like gis/mucky i rarely talk anything but pish.....and always get same back.....can make for some good banter

but...as I get older......tend to find that trying to find the humour in serious subjects is offensive to some...but hey ho...each to their own...it all makes for a more colourful world

ok........most of it is banter......having a laff, random talk etc........serious convos in chat wouldnt work.....and obviously in chat ppl dont want to go into life conversations due to privacy and confidentiality etc.

I stopped using the chat for the simple reason.....it was all 'hi' and 'bye'.

I know its nice to be nice but there wasn't much chatting going on and if there was i would had missed it as it moves so fast.

Nowadays i post in the forums as i can voice my thoughts and opinions in more detail.

Stiil the same pish mind you as i posted in the chatroom

Always chatty but agree with Steve that... if am not chatting, means i am doing other stuff on the site or talking to friends or family.

Yeah can be like the "waltons" but hey nice to be nice !

Nice to get a good convo with all in room but not always possible depending how busy it is !

May be 50 but boy can i multi task ! lol
