Candles add to the atmosphere, and hide the smell of sweaty socks or feet (sometimes).

Excuse me, that's cheap! A decent candle can easily cost you twice that.

Candles have been big business for years now, where have you been?

Sorry to disappoint you, but there are plenty of candles available now which are at least the equal of Yankee, and at a signicant price reduction.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to acknowledge that Yankee has done a great marketing job, but much of it is simply marketing. There are several other American and Canadian ranges of jar candles out there in good gift shops and garden centres.

I agree with you.

I don't burn candles very often but I do have very good ones and none of them are Yankee. Its the name your paying for. X

The more expensive the candle, usually means the more aroma, choice of scent and long lasting. I love yankee and partylite candles. Quality counts x

I was given a couple of large Jo Malone boudoir candles die my birthday one year and as a candle lover I have to admit I was surprised. Only needed to burn one for about 20 minutes for it to scent my entire flat. Lasted ages as well. Wish I had the money to treat myself but can't justify the prices. They were lovely though

Have always loved candles, the light the ambiance and for some the smell, but from two years ago when our son was diagnosed with asthma I no longer use candles in the house, I have them only as display.
