I never do that,I always look or had a chat to someone. Even if is just some words to the driver of the bus. But that just me a bit nutty. It nice to make someone day by saying they look good or their hair is nice or they smell lovely. But you,s all saying I sound like a tit again lol xxxx

I have made some nice friends by chatting to people on the bus .

Met a blind lady. Got chatting about her Dog..

Anyway. We got on so well. She invited me to a family birthday party..

And 3 yrs later still friends.

Well I'm the opposite, I'm proberly too over friendly. I really enjoy chatting and getting to know strangers.

May never see/meet that person again but it's good to be friendly, happy and helpful to others. I have a lot in common with older people (don't ask, long story) and people with disabilities so i will always help if i can or be pleasant.

It also makes a any journey on a train/bus/plane or make a swim/workout at the gym go better and often more enjoyable

I very rarely use public transport now but when I work in central London there was a whole of people who got the same train and we knew all about each other but we never really knew each others names lol. It was great and strange all at the same time

And it's true, smile at someone and they wi smile back. It's subconscious. I do it to people in shops - it's great fun

I never use the bus but often use the train, not one for avoiding eye contact with anyone and always give a wee smile or a nod, usually get one back,am quite a chatty gal so usually pass the time of day with whoever's sitting next to me, this gives me a gauge if there up for more chatting,If not head phones on and listen to my tunes... Loud!!!!!
