"y ther no1 realy meet in perth??"

There are plenty in perth.. maybe a bit more patience and better grammar/ manners may help???

Remember the more respect you give the better the pleasure in the end...

You've been here 6 weeks and had a meet.... That's more than a lot of guys can say... And as a woman the amount of guys that mail saying hi or hi what you up to? Is way too many to keep saying I'm good and not much..... It always leads to "want to meet"

I personally prefer to chat and get to know folk first and it's easier if there's more to a first message than what you up to.... Do you really want to know that I'm reading forums inbetween washing my floors and ironing

"y ther no1 realy meet in perth??"

For goodness sake why on earth can you not use proper grammar when composing a message....You have six words in your message....and four of them are wrong....

And you are wondering why you cannot get a meet....

Is it just us.....or do postings like the above one really grit.....

The OP is moaning about not getting a meet......but at the same time cannot even be bothered correcting the spelling mistakes....there is even a spell checker as you type...

Its all about the impression you leave.....and four spelling mistakes in a six word post will leave the worst impression...

"oops, what I meant to say was.... I completely agree"

Thank you kind lady.

There are so many posts on here that you read.....and think..."I have no idea what that person is talking about"

So many posts full of spelling mistakes and text speak...

I'm not saying this to be snobbish or elitist.....but there is a spell checker on the site for goodness sake....it tells you when you have spelt a word wrong.....

Your profile and what you post on the forums are the two things that will get you meets....invest some time and effort into them...it will pay dividends...

If you cannot be bothered correcting spelling mistakes on your profile and postings.....then what does that tell the site about the type of person you are...

Sunday afternoon rant over....for now....

this type of so called text speak is ludicrous. If someone cannot make the effort to create a profile with proer spelling then what are they going to be like when meeting. You get 1 chance at a 1st impression and this guy has totally failed. Lots of guys on here looking to meet and have much more chance if they put up a decent profile detail.

Thanks to the Dunfermline Massive for agreeing with me........

We are all here....well some of us anyway....to meet like minded folks..

And initially the two main ways are via your profile and posts on forums. After that its about networking via socials, meets and clubs......

Your profile should be a cross between your sexual c.v. and an advert...

Should not be too long. Should be direct and specific.

Sentences should not have more than 12 words....because thats how many words people read before loosing interest.

And it should have no spelling mistakes and should have proper grammar...

Its like mens shoes......they should be expensive....have laces...proper heels ....and always be polished. And if you have all that then the rest does not matter...Its like Paolo Nutini says "I've got my new shoes on and suddenly everythings ok"

If you cannot be bothered setting up a decent profile......then why on earth would anyone want to meet you in the real world..

Simple. Its not rocket salad.....(and that is not a typo)

what utter nonsense, the two main ways are forums and profile ?? this may be YOUR two main ways but not everyones. then networking? again YOUR way of doing things not everyones.

as for sexual cv and an advert am not selling myself to anyone ,so aint advertising, this may be how you like to perceive it but not everyone does

shouldnt be too long, direct and specific?? guess what YOUR way again not everyone else's.

sentences should be no more than 12 words ??? WTF where did you pull this gem from ??

"a sentence is a set of words that has a subject and also has a verb" googles your friend here as for no spelling mistakes there are plenty of people online with dyslexia and other difficulties be it learning or confidence ones do you really think coming down hard on speeling mistakes is helping them (notice no spell checker in place as dont have one).

Wasnt aware we needed particular qualifications when we joined fab or did i miss that in the terms and conditions with my poor reading skills ????

as as for setting up a decent profile who is going to check these things or are you going to filter everyones profile and decide if they are worthy of being here ?? simples aint rocket salad (apparently)

Off to research when the new intake for reading riting and rithmetic at P7 level starts before i renew my site supporters membership

Okay . I’ve taken a deep breath before replying.

Number 1: If your profile is not an advert then what is it. Are you not using it to attract like minded folks. That’s what advertising is.

Number 2: If your profile is not one of the main ways to attract folks then why have one.

Number 3: If you are not trying to sell yourself to anyone then why are you on here. Everyone on here is trying to sell themselves to other people. That’s the whole point of the site.

Number 4: I’’ve worked in advertising and copy writing for over 30 years. Its an industry I know inside out. That is where I “pulled that gem from” its a basic rule for getting your message across online.

Number 5: This site has a spell checker. So your dyslexia comment has no meaning. When you miss spell a word it gets underlined. The site then suggests a correct one.

Number 6: There are numerous and almost daily postings on all the forums from people asking for help with their profile because they are not getting meets. So why when I offer some advice based on my experience and qualifications do you come up with a completely negative “what utter nonsense” comment.

Number 7: Whats your great secret. You don’t think a profile is of any use. You don’t think social work. You don’t think posting on forums is any good. You don’t think going to clubs works. Dying to hear what you think works. The general advice from everyone on all forums for folks trying to find their feet on Fab is…work on your profile. Go to socials. Interact on the forums. But you seem to have found a better way.

Let hear it…….

doesnt bother with deep breath.

number 1:- my profile is a brief synapse of me. as you may have noticed i aint trying to attract anyone those i wish to converse with i will.

number 2:- profile may be one of others ways of attracting people not mine i converse with people to find out if any similarities.

number 3:- im on here to chat and mingle with friends and others that i find stimulating.

number 4:- ive worked in a cement factory dont make me a block of cement the gem is wrong ....................fact.

number 5:- the site has a spell checker ?? you sure it aint your computer that has a spellchecker as to my knowledge the site dosnt have a spellchecker its a programme on your pc . my comment on dyslexia has plenty meaning but lets say your right what about those with learning difficulties or confidence issues do these people not matter ??.

number 6:- because you decide to do it in a derogatory manner

number 7:- hey what works for me aint what works for you its you who said this is the magic formula this is how to use the site i never gave any indication about how to use the site

Yup again, IE10 for example, sets itself up to automatically check your spelling but earlier versions did not, you had to do it yourself if you could be bothered to find the setting to change.

They all probably changed it to automatically spell check so that some people on a swinging site could feel superior to some others and get a shag easier.... (Removes tongue from cheek)!

PS - The "site" still doesn't have a spell checker, your browsers are doing that for you, it won't be the same with some other people's browsers!

We are all here to "sell" ourselves.....that the point of the site isn't it.

I don't mean for money. I mean when we first set up a profile.....we do it to tell everyone that reads it what we are about and what we are looking for....that in its simplest form is selling ourselves.........that what your profile does....

You are telling the FAB all about you......that what selling is......

And why is selling a dirty word....its what makes the world go round...
