That time of year again and this year determined to catch a few shows.

Seen the lady boys before but this year going to try visit a few different things.

Club Noir at the picture house looks good on 10th August.

Any other fabbers planning on going to anything or have good reviews on whats hot ?

Did the festival club noir nite a few years ago, not as lively as the glasgow ones.

Tickets for a main act for end of night, with a bit of free show catching and eats before it is a good way to enjoy a fringe day.

If you can find any pavement space, i always brace myself in August for potential eye loss with brollies or being shouldered on to oncoming traffic

Deffo coming through this year quit fancied the play about the band splitting up. Which actually refers to the splitting up of the union

Getting good reviews. Think it's on at assembly rooms.

We go every year....you get such a great atmosphere and feel rather proud that a little country called Scotand has the biggest west festival in the world...

We both love the Royal Mile during the day...and sitting outside with a glass or two...

Then there's the Comedy Festival which is becoming bigger than the fringe...

I usually hate the festival; too many ignorant tourists!

But hope to see a few shows this year. Went to one a comedy one few years ago and it was good!

I was out at the festival tonight and saw two amazinh shows. First one was 'Briefs: The Second Coming'. Its a cabaret of seriously hot cross dressers with some awesome acts and a good laugh. It was just brilliant and I'm so pleased my friend chose for us to go see it Would reccommend it to anyone!

Second show was 'Eastend Cabaret' which was pretty good as well. Worth going to see for a good laugh

Marc Thomas (100 acts of minor dissent in a year) was excellent as usual.

Wellington Ukelele orchestra was good (Especially as I got free tickets)

Teviot row - guilded balloon venue, I was offerred a few free tickets around this area.

Rouse Ye Women (C Aquilla - near the Quaker meeting rooms next to the Castle) was excellent if you are looking for something serious - A cross between Stomp and Rambert Dance, with choral singing and a serious message.

Lighting was good too - Loud percussion.

Oxford Gargoyles - Dissapointing.

Chops - I saw an attempt at a preview on the mile - it was so bad it pettered out after only 2 minutes and had no substance - appauling - do not even waste shoe leather if offered free tickets - reading other shows flyers would be more rewarding.

Economy of Thought (play) looks worth a visit - anybody been?

The chap who the film 'Midnight Express' was based on is giving a talk one night - that should be interesting.

Peep Show - as a venue looks interesting concept, there are a number of shows there during the day. Private booths onto the performing space with one way mirrors between you and the performers.....

Summerhall and George Square both good atmospheres to chill and enjoy a drink in.

I must pop back again soon - may see some of you there.

P.s. I hear Red Bastard is not for the feint hearted

If you fancy a bit of free comedy, try Ruth Cockburn at Madogs in George Street. Every night at 6.15. We're going tomorrow, heard she's fab but can be a bit close to the bone so not for the easily offended. Sx
