We all are mate My first I stoods out side for 29 mins before I went in When walk in tht everyone was looking at me But not long after that I was dancing the nite away Go to them you love it

At my first one I went along on my own. I didnt know anyone but I reckoned there would be other noobs too that I could talk to. The hostess will probably introduce you to everyone anyway & then you just start to blether. Tell someone you're nervous, they'll prob look after you

My first social I organised with a fellow member so I wasn't really allowed to be nervous lol. Luckily I went in with people I knew so didn't feel so awkward and had a blast

I was shy the first one on my own. But if you make friends and meet them there then it's a little less daunting. Now I'm up dancing the night away with whoever is brave enough to ask me to dance. Or I get up on my own and boogie. I have a great time at socials.

Exactly. Regular forum users all have English as their first language. Not everyone on fab is from the UK. Some foreigners can be sensitive over their place of birth (only they know why, bad experiences, xenophobia) or their language skills. There is an added hurdle for some people.

I can be shy, but I can easily put it aside. I would be a bit apprehensive if I was on holiday abroad and went to a social in France trying to remember my French from school.

I wasn't judging anyone many of the guys verifications are from partys not 121's you know he'd be made to feel more than welcome at anyone of my socials or private partys xxx

I know you'd make him welcome hon but also know there's a big difference between a private party and a big social and I was crapping myself before my first social even tho I'd already hosted a couple of parties by then

I only ask because I wouldn't profess to know what went on at a party if I wasn't there

Maybe he knew one or two people who were attending?!?!?!?! Which would, in my opinion, make a huge difference.

As for the 'not thinking he was asking for help' then wtf do you think he was hoping to achieve? Going by his profile it's not as if he needs any help to get meets

this is the most weiredest site on earth and we all act different to different situations but I am still honest at social im shy .... I really don't know why..

If you want to attend a social but are unsure about it. Go to the chatroom,get to know folk and when a social is advertised, see whose going that you chat regularly to and meet them at the social. Most of the organisers of socials on here, will only be to glad to look after you and introduce you to others. Easy,lol have fun x
