How long should you chat before suggesting a meet? 🤔 👀

Genuine question for the couples on here…

We don't get the chance to meet up that often, so we're quite happy to chat for a while, get to know people and potentially line something up a little in advance of everyone hits it off!

The problem we're finding, especially with couples, is getting chats going in the first place. 😂

We can only meet when we have childcare, so we don't always know when our next free night will be. It could potentially be a few weeks, or even a month, before we're actually able to meet.

So we're wondering… does chatting without having an immediate date available make you come across as time wasters?

Would you rather someone wait until they actually has a date available before starting a conversation, or are you happy to chat, see if there's a connection and then arrange something when the opportunity comes up?

Interested to hear how everyone else approaches it! 👀

We’ve chatted to people for weeks and weeks and even months before arranging to meet.

Even after arranging a date it can be several weeks after that before it actually happens. We’re not in any rush to dive into meeting people, and much prefer taking our time. Most couples around our age are in a similar situation with work and kids responsibilities, so things often take a while for diaries to align!

I think this is why we’ve been lucky with the people we’ve met, we’ve been patient and not rushed in. xx

Hi, i know im not a couple 😂 but I think its a double edged sword. If you chat too often it fizzles out. If you dont chat enough it fizzled out. I think if your talking on the phone, or arrange a social with it being clear its a social, to meet each other, it has a better chance of going somehwere. Especially as a couple, as one of you from either side might need more persuading about tje potential other from the other couple. But like me, with children to consider (single parent) that parts hard. If the person yous talk too is worth it, and they think yous are, theyll maybe meet for some socials and there be a month or two wait between them and then an actual meet. But there has too be something more than texting on here too keep it going/alive.

We're the same not in a rush and even if we were can't due to family and work! I just think sometimes people might think we aren't interested when we say we don't know when we would be available!

We’re definitely in the same boat. Life gets in the way, and when someone catches your eye it might be a while before you can arrange something…life is complicated.

We’ve had much more success with a spontaneous meet in clubs or holiday resorts where we are usually free to make an instant decision.

Having said that we’re always optimistic that a slow chat on here could lead to something great, and that’s why we keep on trying!

We also get a really good feeling for the ones worth waiting for. Hope that all makes sense!

I mean everyone is different of course...I have the opposite issue I think I talk to people too long without encouraging more kinky shenanigans as I guess I'm just worried about coming across as a perv and not in the good way....maybe I'm too understanding
