Someones house would be the better option. Or a rented apartment. Ive been to a few and in the end, it doesnt really matter where it is, its who is there that makes it fun lol

At the first (and last) party my pal and I organised in an hotel, someone (no names) managed to set the curtains alight with a tea light. The hotel were very understanding but we didn't risk trying to use the venue again.

Home everytime since.

Can get very lucky with hotels if breeze in at night and ask for room availability, landed vip suites etc at half price, the hotel want rooms occupied instead of empty, earning nowt.

Rented places are good,,only once had an event cut short due to a doo lally tap woman in flat above kickin off just because some ladies went out on balcony to gave a cig. Ahhh i rember that one too was gonna be grrrrroovy,,lol

Indeed, you can get great deals.

Upmarket business hotels often struggle at weekends and will, if asked, offer incentives. Two nights for one, free use of leisure centre, dinner thrown in.

It's always worth asking.

I tend to use Up Market apartments or Hotel Suites. Both provide anonymity and good facilities. Each to our own I guess.

We can't accommodate at home because of kids but not too sure I'd want to have one at home anyway - always the risk some family member is gonna show up lol

We've used apartments for parties before and have found a few places where there is no reception on site and we've never had any complaints lol xx
