Been looking at the Tent Box Lite XL. Has anyone used them for having fun? Supposedly sleeps 4. Have seen quite a few posts about wild camping but is there loads of private places to park and camp. Cheers. M

no suck thing as wild camping in a car. Wild camping is for hikers nit for cars.

Depends how far you wish to travel, there’s parts of Argyll which are ideal. Perthshire and Angus have spots too, comes down to how much time you have.

I've got a tent box and I've used it loads of times for getting away for a wee break.

I am aware of a couple who have opened up a field for swingers to use... read there profile, it contained no mention of the field being accessible to anyone unless in a couple.

So... put my brave pants on an messaged enquiring about me using it. It can be quite unsettling female solo camping! I could go, get a chance to gain confidence and feel safe.

And... Ive been blocked 🚫. I call that anti-singlist *jokes

There are many places in Scotland that you can legally park up. Generally the rules are if there are toilet facilities (there are many park spots with public toilets) then no problem.

I do a lot of overnight parking with my van for hiking activities, mostly park in quiet places without facilities, it’s more a case of common sense.

In the summer months the Highland areas are inundated with camper vans especially the southern areas like Glencoe and Loch Lomond and across to Skye.

Further north it’s a bit quieter but still busy.

During covid and the campervan invasion many beautiful areas were turned into middens with rubbish and literally sh!t dumped in every lay-by so the rules have tightened up.

The police don’t have the resources to enforce much, but the Lairds and landlord nobility can move you on.

If using a tent box may be worth investing in a mobile toilet, not the nicest thing to carry about but even if you have it just for show and proof that you’re not going to poop where you shouldn’t.
