Dunfermline

We’ve done it but in several different stints. Probably spent 10 weeks over 5 years or so. So much to do and see and so many amazing beaches and places. Definitely very doable in a week or 2 but would be flying visits to everything. Sometimes it’s great to spend a few days in each place walking - cycling and you will find so many hidden gems not on the popular list

Thinking about doing this soon, done so many parts of it already, has anyone hired a 4 or 6 berth camper and whats the cost been per day or week on it, i know some roads arent too good for bigger ones but id much preffer a loose timescale on each stop and of i want to stay extra days then i can

Aberdeenshire

I’ve done it but more intensive, there are many internal routes in the vast Sutherland hinterland areas that avoid the traffic chaos.

October is probably the best time.

Took the opportunity to climb Ben Hope while there, Scotland’s most northerly Munro.

Best to arrange on here for meets, not exactly a thriving scene here in the Highlands

Aberdeenshire

We done it last year after having not done it since 95 and so much changes and so busy but had a great time.

Stopped everywhere and anywhere for some pics for on here and probably gave a few an eyeful.

Planning on going in July again and hopefully a meet or two.Only had one last time but wasn't overly trying.

in town

I have done all it in different stages at different times, althoguh did do it in 24 hrs once lol, not advised!

As others have said it is now way busier than it ever used to be!! And some of the roads are narrow and get congested,

As Fergie said October or May are good times to go.... tourist season hasnt kicked in fully and the midges are as bad and weather tends to be more settled, the water is a wee but warmer if thats your thing and October time offers some amazing sunsets on the west coast and better chance of seeing the big Scottish wildlife 5.

There are a number of wee detours off the beaten track that are well worth doing and some great places to eat to explore as well, and a number of seclided places still for fun.

Enjoy we live in a beautiful country with lovely people. If anyone does want some pointers happy to help out.
