Doing the marathon in may and thaught It might be a nice idea if anyone else is doing it or the half to have a place to talk about how they’re training is going with like minded fabbers. I will be traveling down and making a weekend of it so lots of time for coffee and socials. Excited to try it as Iv only ever done Loch Ness marathon so hoping for a good PB on a flat course. Hoping for sub 3 myself, what everyone else goals for it?

Loch Ness time was in the 3:01:00. So close but was not meant to be on the day. Had a good marathon block so hoping a flatter course and more fitness should get me sub 3 in Edinburgh.

Hey it’s Mrs here, I’ve had you on my hotlist for a while now. Maybe we can meet up and force my husband to watch us

In entered for the 10k. Started training a few weeks ago but straight away had knee pain. I've rested the old knees for a w couple of weeks so time to get back to the training. Does anyone have tips for dealing with knee pain and training in general.

Tape, and decent trainers, try a few pairs to see if any help the knees.

But definitely tape them up, YouTube videos are good for how to do it.

Thanks. I'll get onto YouTube over the weekend. Trainers did me okay for half marathon last year and not actually done many more miles since then but might be worth a switch now.

Focus on single leg exercises at home or the gym. Pain may be linked to weak or imbalance in the muscles.

Thanks. I'm concentrating on gym work at the moment and hopefully that helps

Back out running later in the week with new shoes

Running a 100 mile race in July, marathons every week for last few months is nuts but good for stamina
