Has Dogging Died in West of Scotland

Glasgow

I used to like dogging seems in last year or so it had died. It's almost impossible to get a decent meet or experience.

I know the reasons

1 idiots - rude impolite pushy people who can't take no as a answer and try to impose on genuine meets.

2 Neds - usually young petrolheads who refuse to allow peaceful things to happen.

3 Police - acting on information received the police seem intent on stamping out Dogging. Maybe because its easier than chasing after law breakers. Although if meeting people in public places for sex is illegal then why are the same police not raiding nightclubs.

4 idiots - part 2 idiots who do dogging but have no respect for locality be it private property or local residents. These people cause Police to be informed.

I would like to think there are enough good people on fab who would not fall into any of these categories. It would be amazing to develope a spot unknown to the above mentioned. Creating a nice list of visitors to a site that respect others, respect the area and respect any local non-participants. Maybe that is a dream to far or a vision of utopia that will never come true. All I know is that the vast majority of spots around Glasgow are now dead or dying. Given some of the amazing people I have met and enjoyed sexy times with I feel it would be a shame to let dogging die.

No, dogging hasn't died in the West of Scotland but .............

There was a comment piece over the weekend (regarding the closure of sauna/ massage brothel establishments) to the effect that the creation of a single police force for the whole of Scotland has 'encouraged' local divisional police commanders to fall in line with a very low level of tolerance of such 'nefarious' activity.

When a single police force was first mooted we (the public) were promised a high level of local decision-making and accountability.

What we seem to be getting (OK, it's early days) is Steve House's Glasgow standards being applied across Scotland, regardless of how well local arrangements were working.

Doesn't matter where you stick a secret spot someone will find out and announce it on a public forum and before you know it police are swarming about it.

Personally I wouldn't go dogging because I don't fancy getting caught and stuck on a sex offenders thing as some people have been already. Sure its probably fun but the risks outweigh it tbh.

Ill never understand why people complain when police catch them dogging. They are just doing their jobs at the end of the day and if what you were doing was fine they wouldn't bother you. Might not be crime of the century but the laws the law

Just out of interest does anything happen in the bishopbriggs area? I know i drove up to the campsie car park the other night just past lennoxtown just cos it was a nice summers evening and the guy beside me started flashing his headlights. I left like the general lee as i was only out for an innocent drive.

Cops (used to) take their lead on these matters from local police boards. That gave scope for a bit of leeway to suit local concerns and issues. I suspect the lead is now coming from MacAskill's office and Steve House is only too happy to comply - possibly why he was given the post.

Those senior cops unhappy with the changes are being farmed out, either to retirement or posts like HMI Prisons.

Not sure about the bishopbriggs area they are certainly a lot of secluded spots up that way.

As for the Police think that what the west has went through is going to spread across the country.
