the profile shopping list

have you read any profiles that are more like a shopping list for the imaginary perfect person on here than a realistic person.

I have seen the videos of folk wanting the tall ,good looking and earning stupid money on tiktok when if they are lucky they are not even in the same ball park as the 1% they are looking for.

Is the cover now more important than the contents of the book ????

Yes I've come across such profiles and, to be honest, I just bypass them because I find them incompatible with my desires.

If they wish to create an exhaustive list of wants then that's fine. I suspect they are restricting their options but that could be by design or perhaps by their unwitting actions.

A good profile for me will always be about the contents, substance and reasonable (and realistic) preferences. It's a mutual thing at the end of the day.

It’s not a shopping list. It’s a list of preferences. As a woman on here,and I would imagine the majority of women are the same, time spent on this site has shown that most men will try their luck with anyone. I say most men as I know a lot of men are still very selective and that’s absolutely their right to be. Putting down a list of suggestions simply shows what type of man you are attracted to or would like them to be into the same stuff as you. This would hopefully prevent men from wasting their time if say they are 5ft 6 and you say you would like someone tall. It doesn’t deter a lot of men and they are the ones that don’t read the profiles. I would much rather read a profile and see if I’m going to be compatible with someone rather than message and go into a big list of unread messages. No?

I agree that preferences are great within reason and if they want a taller man then fine, but im not talking about preferences im talking about what looks more like a shopping wish list that is so unrealistic that there is no way that they will ever find anyone to match all of their items. Its the 1% fantasy

This in a nutshell. It’s done in the hope that it stops guys from wasting time with someone that isnt a match for them. Does it matter if you feel that they “aren’t good enough to make these demands ” not at all. It’s nice to see people with standards and showing they know what they want.

It's interesting that those who list heavy stipulations on their profiles are essentially passing the onus onto the "viewer" to self appraise whether they make the cut.

As far as I can see it, communicating preferences is healthy. Handing folk a criteria to mark themselves against before they are worthy of sending you a message, feels a bit much.

But, each to their own.

Personally I would see the shopping list and think "too precious" and move swiftly on.

funny how the ladies think that "the 1% fantasy " is a realistic preference when all the males can see its not.

As I said preferences are fine but make them realistic. batching so many together adds up to a fantasy
