I’m going(Mrs) not ran since Christmas so should be interesting . Doing the 15k . Looked at the obstacles yesterday …… I’ve severely undertrained . Now just going for the shits and giggles !

Good luck to all of you doing TM tomorrow. I did it a few years ago and I keep saying I’m going to do it again, I just need to get out running and cycling to get my cardio up.

Hopefully you will be out early when the water is clean.

Good luck to you guys and gals doing it tomorrow. I used to participate in OCRs (Obstacle Course Racing) years ago but unfortunately upper hamstring tendonitis put that to bed. Enjoy every minute of it!! Xxx

Absolutely loved it! We crossed the finish line as the torrential rain started! Came home and went out to party , I will absolutely be dying when I wake up but totally worth it. Was a great laugh and not nearly as hard as I expected. Queues at some of the obstacles were insane though . Could have done it at least an hour quicker without the queues. Bonus is I ran through the last obstacle a managed to avoid any electric shock .

It was my first TM and I did little to no training so it was a good laugh. Waiting tine for some obstacles were so long but a welcomed breather. The electric shock got me 4 x… ouch! Well done everyone for completing x

You mean your idea of fun isn’t crawling through a tunnel filled with tear gas ??

To be fair I’ve no idea why I done it either and did ask myself that question serval times in the day !!!!

But to be honest it’s something different, a challenge you don’t come across everyday and you get to jump in muddy puddles which is a hell of a lot of fun

I participated in them regularly for 4 years. I thought like you did until I did my first one. Totally unprepared 🤦🏼 That set the precedent for me to do better in the next one, then the next one. Learning the rope climb technique, completing the monkey bars, tyre carrying etc. The list goes on. You are in competition with yourself. What I realised was when you are doing them you don't get the opportunity to think about what you are doing. It is right there in front of you and you do it. I'm terrified of heights yet there I was jumping off the tallest obstacle into water. Something I would never do if I had to think of it. It is a way of overcoming your own limitations. And the buzz is unreal afterwards 😁
