I'm always interested in what way folk determine others as 'fakes'. Do their messages seem bot-like, are they difficult to secure a solid date with, are they simply people who don't reply to you? There are a lot of people who think a lack of interest in them means the site is full of fakes.

Plenty of us here are genuine; many of us like genuine, honest people too.

So you are trying to direct message them instead of replying to an comment on the forum. Usually seen as a no no and possibly part of the reason you are struggling. I think everyone who has been on for any length of time would agree it has gone downhill over the years. Its all our choice to be here and no one has a right to meet or even get a reply to a message. Yes, the ratio of men to women is huge, and definitely got larger during covid I'd say, but I wouldnt say the site is full of fakes, just because you dont get replies, doesnt class them as fakes. If you pique someone's interest then they will chat, it can be frustrating at times, but ranting publicly would help matters.

Get to a club, socialise with people there, you will see that everyone is very welcoming and friendly and who knows where it might lead.

Think OP is using the term "fakes" as a broad umbrella term for anyone that doesn't reply or that does but ultimately doesn't follow through with a meet.

Tbh it does seem like most single men are on here for the wrong reasons and as someone has already said the people that have "completed tinder" have not helped with how they just expect to get sex when they want it.

Fab is a slow process OP, its not meant to be a quick shag n go like so many guys have asked us for. Just because you like the look of a profile doesn't mean they'll like you and they may decide after 3-4 messages that they dont like your attitude, so if all you want is your end away then Fab really isn't the place for you and ranting on forums definitely isn't helping anyone.

This 🙌🏼 This is exactly it. They think they will have 'more chance' here than Tinder. Not understanding one bit about the scene and how it all works. Then they post their usual status of 'this place is full of timewasters' and even evolving to posting it onto the forums too 😋 I am constantly letting them know that they will have more luck on Tinder than here. I’m not sure the site attracts as many new people as it used to.

I would say most of the new profiles seem to be fakes and disappear pretty quickly. Even if they are genuine, due to the amount of fake profiles being created it becomes hard for them to get their first meet.

I’ve noticed most socials, clubs and private parties all seem to be the same people going now so people are sticking to what they know

Seeing lots more young lads looking at my profile these days At the age of 18 you were out on the town enjoying yourself. I know I would not feel comfortable with a younger guy. I have a daughter in late 20s it would feel like being with one of her pals but if that's your thing then good luck. I will stick to guys nearer my age range. I tend to agree the site has gone downhill extremely, but so has the quality that are still on the site.

When the effort required for the reward results has diminished the quality will reflect that. Many don't even know that fab means friends and benefits it to some just means free sex book up and go.. or the classic coffee social and a fuck is automatically expected

As someone really new to the site, it's definitely been hard to make connections but I can see it from both sides. I tend to be quite selective and send a polite message to people, but know that there are ten guys to every woman so it's no wonder I rarely get a reply. I'm going to attend socials instead as meeting people face to face in a safe environment is clearly much better for everyone. Going to two this month at the Ecclesia so maybe see some people there.

Having an age preference isn't indicative of a fake profile. Having any preferences, at all, isn't indicative of a fake profile.

I feel like this term is used far too often when someone thinks they're guaranteed a shag because this is a swingers site, but being a swinger, for us anyway, is as much about the social aspect as it is about the sex.

When someone has a rant about fakes and timewasters, it usually is a red flag for me because it tells me they're wanting to meet ASAP without getting to know me or us, and likely won't respect my time, my preferences and potentially my boundaries xx

Easier for what exactly?

Women same as men can block or stop chatting for whatever reason theve got its not a rejection or timewasting not being on the same page as someone

Personally i just block because the many times i try explain my reasons why i dont want to talk further il get berated more or most often sent extremely abusive messages back

90% of the time i get called a time waster cos im not wanting to meet for sex, the audacity of me to be here socially

The evolution of fab is really interesting.

I’ve been here on and off for 15 years. So clearly I’ve change as much (probs more) than Fab has. I loose interest in it, and then it’s hard to be bothered to make the effort required to make it worth while.

But I think it will always work for those who are genuinely interested in the life and not just here for a pump. I love the place, think we are lucky to have it and its flaws (eg poor tech) are part of the charm.

A crazy and flawed and fun site for crazy and flawed people. Dullards need not apply.

As for the op? This place probs isn’t for you, try something else.

It does have its fair share of issues for everyone all round and it can be hard for a guy to get his message noticed in a inbox it could be the best message in the world but can be lost in masses or mood ain’t there after a couple or female have read through various other drivel or even abuse.

In a way it’s harder in a sense for couples or females as unfortunately there is entitlement and bad attitude from some unfortunately and as being apart of groups I find people are moving to that there instead.

Of course there is also fakes, wind up merchants but it also happens on any platform be it selling content or phishing for information.

But cause anyone has have a type or preference doesn’t mean they are fake all and are quite entitled to deal with things how we see fit even if that means blocking or silence. A person ain’t bad if they deal with something differently than us.

And It might not be for everyone getting out there and meeting people be it a club or social can really help.

Yes there a fake profiles , its part and parcel with putting yourself online . there are fake female profiles , fake couple profiles , fake male profiles ...its not gender specific , due dilligence is whats needed

Timewasters in the world of fab isnt someone who blocks , sets filters for messages , who rejects you , who has set parameters for what they want .Everyone is here for there own reasons be it what it may , thats not for anyone else to decide what that should be .

Timewasters are people who arrange a meet and dont turn up without explantion .

Even up until the meet or during the meet people can change their mind its called consent and thats ok too .

Just because someone doesnt want to or no longer wants to engage in whatever manner your seeking doesnt make them fake .

All to many users start banding the term fake around because they dont get the interaction the want .

I dunno I think the sites pretty decent made tons of friends from off here and will continue to do so. Of course you get the odd fake profiles normally easy to spot… though I’ve been duped a few times by well verified couples profiles that’s just a man but this is no different to other sites when you can make a profile for free you’re going to get the odd fakes and fantasists.

I don't think you're doing yourself any favours, OP. I would just chalk this up to experience and leave it there instead of doubling down on your bad attitude. We all know how hard it is for men on here, we're not stupid, we're fully aware of the uphill struggle it is just to be noticed, but it's no cakewalk for women and couples. And sometimes the reason women don't engage or reply is because we've too much experience in what can happen when we say no. We end up with abuse, threats, slurs.

Take this as a lesson learned and move on from it, OP. Change your attitude, for one, and maybe you won't come across these hurdles. Nobody owes you their time, a reply or their kindness.

I've found that having a meaningful conversation with the opposite sex has become increasingly difficult, likely due to the overwhelming number of messages many people receive. I've been on this site on and off for a few years, and it feels like the community has grown more selective—and understandably busier—over time.

That said, I'm still hopeful that genuine connections are possible with a bit of patience and the right timing, or chance it and go to meets. I have not had the time to do that recently

Be selective in who you wink or message. Read the profile, reference a particular like or interest of the recipient. In 3 years I’ve initiated less than a dozen conversations and gotten some friends during my meets.

Get yourself into a club, and meet that way.

Make the effort and accept that on here as away from here, you don’t always get what you want.

You will get some sort of ban for slagging the site off. We messaged them about members safety and fake profiles after they sent us a warning for outing a fake and warning other members.

Everyone looks for something specific to them.

Personally, I'm not looking for single meets with lots of guys, but one or 2 I can meet regularly and have some fun with. But by the time I make sure they're safe to meet, they are either gone cos they got their kicks already, or ghost immediately after. Then there's the liars. The married men (not for me) those in not so open relationships, or not being honest about relationships at all.

I take my sexual health seriously, and expect any partner to be honest about what they get up to, even if I do play safe. It astounds me how many think my health is not important in this equation, when it's the most important thing

Just to put my 10p in I have spent a decade on here as a single guy on and off each time I was in a relationship I wod just stop logging in until single again or login to view cams when I wanted a knuckle shuffle I've chatted to a fair few over that time of lovely ladies but got ignored or deleted or just blocked by loads my feelings was always if they don't want to chat with me then pointless trying to chat to them my current partner expressed an intrest in here and really enjoyed it and we were progressing with confidence of her in potentially moving forward to socials or more but unfortunately 3 times now single guys have put her off that much we had to take a break from site not to long both of us are back on again but all this in 1 year I don't expect it will be long till she is put off again and when she is my feelings are I just delete profile and we just forget about exploring fantasies we have wanted to because we just can't pick the right ones and always end up with people that change and end up blocked or push for meeting when Mrs E isn't ready for that stage AND PLZ SINGLE GUYS DONT GO SENDING DIRECT MESSAGES ABOUT THIS POST as I will just delete them without reading them here is what you make of it

Exactly! Tho we have come across a few fake profiles on here, scammers etc, so be careful. Also a guy on here who keeps getting banned for being abusive in chat then making a new profile! Thats what the mods and block button is for though. That said, we've also met and made some lovely friends on here and use the site all the time!

Its swings and roundabouts really. I have been on and of fab for years. An ex partner loved the attention she got. It was fun and it was opening to the lifes style. It's not changed much.
