Scotland sexual health is backwards

It's strange how Scotland sexual health is so backwards when compared to Ireland's. In Ireland you go to sh24:ie and get the testing kit in the post 2 days later, 2 days later you have the results. All free.

In Scotland we go to https nashonlinebooking com/OnlineBookingSystem/en/ssk

to do the same we get an info saying there are no more kits for the day (!?!?) What?!

I'm sorry, just a rant, but this explains why gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis are so wide spread, they are all orally transmissible and people don't test themselves.

I'm used to test every 3 months, and find it easier to request the kit to my address in Dublin, travel there, do the test and come back.

Is this just me, or are easy ways of people to test in Glasgow?

Yeah the lottery style distribution of kits online is really frustrating. Usually give up and buy a kit from fettle.

There are other options like going in person, or for bi guys in Edinburgh the ROAM services which do appointments at local health centres and an Edinburgh sauna. Over in Glasgow I hear good things about the sandyford in person service.

My doctors surgery does a drop in service. Book an appointment, pop in to give blood samples, take a urine bottle home and pop it back to them for screening. Results back within a week.

Find a Sandyford near you or family planning clinic.

You can make an appointment via telephone consultation and questions

If you live in a busy area and turn up to be tested you might get a number and wait

Most of them only open 1 day a week

I get tested every three months in Glasgow - I just choose to go to a Sandyford clinic to get tested and never have a problem getting an appointment. I opt for clinic testing as they also do bloods whilst the postal tests are swabs only so a more comprehensive set of tests in person

No, at least in Ireland, the postal method includes swabs, urine and bloods. So I guess here is even worse than I thought, it's just not only random but incomplete. Crazy the amounts of taxes and a simple service like that is not available.
