I'm using it. Started on wegovy at the start of the year, now switched to monjourno. I found wegovy had the worst side effects but both are manageable.

Overall down 2.5 stone on the injections, considering switching the curvey description to average in the profile

You need to be over a certain bmi to qualify for the meds.

That was a week n a half ago and still no heard from the doctor S to what the results mean and or what I’ve to do or what medication I’ve to get

Years ago, my diabetic consultant prescribed me Liraglutide (The brand-name version of it is Victoza) and I lost 6 stone over 3 months.

I've never went past the weight I was at, after they took me off it, and some times I wish I could go back on it.

But they explained to me at the time that once you've been on any appetite supressing drug, for 6 to 9 months, your body builds up a resistance to the active components, and is then basically useless.

I don't know what (if any) advice you get on Mounjaro, but as it has the same active components as Liraglutide, it likely will stop working after a while.

I think the only risk in buying online is if you either aren't honest during the online consultation or are shopping from a dodgy supplier. The big online chemists are strictly regulated, I've never felt any worry using them.

I’ve been on it and have lost 2st 4lbs in 10 weeks. I’m going by 10 weeks as each pen last 5 weeks with the golden dose!

I’m also eating well, walking 10k plus steps and day and use the gym for weights 5 times a week.

I’m starting my 7.5mg pen on Wednesday!

Yes and love it. Down about 4 stone. But I regret just going up doses every month, before I knew it I was getting quite bad side effects and no real difference in the weight loss, moved back down to 7.5mg and it’s ideal!

It also helps with other compulsions and cravings. I def find myself on here less and no intrest in drinking at all

Genuine semigultide is pretty easy to get hold of but people aren’t dosing themselves safely and it becomes dangerous very quickly.

I think it’s great that so many people are losing the weight that they previously struggled to but there’s still a lack of research about the long term results/ effects.

For now though, if it’s done safely and it helps people feel and look good then that’s what matters

Mine have been pretty mild,a bit of bloating, a bit of acid reflux, but nothing crazy.

Can be worse with certain foods, if I have a heavy meal (uncommon as I generally don't feel like it on these drugs) then the side effects are a bit worse

I'd let my weight sneak up. Nothing drastic but last few years I'd seen it go up a half or full stone annually. My BMI was just under 30 and I was sorely tempted to try it as a quick fix.

However, 2 folk at work are using it. One had the worst side effects and decided it wasn't worth it. The other has taken it too far. That terrible scrawny Ozempic look (think Ariana Grande). So much so that a couple of folk had a word with her.

I decided to go old school and just cut the cals by eating better and up the exercise. It's harder work but I am feeling so much better for it. Not sure a yo yo on and off weight loss drugs would work for me.

My doctor put me on semaglutide the only major side effect is pancreatitis thankfully I've been fine since I started and dropped quite a lot so far.

I think I'm on it ad a temporary measure I've not spoke to him in a while but people that aren't using it safely are risking their long term health big time

It's not really. They are regulated, you have to supply ID, prove your weight, and finally a video consultation, before you get sent the treatment. So for me it'll be another couple of weeks before I start.

They ask a lot of questions but of course it relies on you being honest, hence why there is a further video consultation solution. They also inform your GP.

Asda, Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy, Morrisons, Superdrug, Numan etc all supply this medication direct. It's not at all dodgy.

Buy from a reputable source and answer all questions honestly and there's little risk at all. There's an awful lot of people using it, many prescribed by the NHS.

I (Mr) have lost almost 6 stone with Mounjaro.

Started in September, with some side effects. but I’d say they have eased over time, as your body get used to it, but also that you don’t overeat, which seems to be the most obvious trigger for them.

Those side effects are “Explosive diarrhoea”... 2 words that you would never want to put together, along with general discomfort in your stomach.

Appetite is effectively suppressed, you get used to just eating smaller portions which are satisfying, and no desire to snack.

A side plate sized dinner portion has become the norm.

It is a reputable online pharmacy I use, who check in and report back to my GP, who have monitored usage and asked all the right questions.

A type 2 diabetes diagnosis was the trigger and that’s now fully in remission.

You can only get a prescription with a BMI over 30. It was photo proof requested last year that I had to provide, but as mentioned, think they have upped the verifications now.

Cost, £200 per month for full strength. Dosage builds up monthly (first month’s cost £150) 2.5mg, to 5mg, to 7.5mg, to 10mg, to 12.5, then to 15mg (full strength).

You can’t skip dosage steps and with the side effects, you wouldn’t want to.

The shopping bill has easily reduced by that amount, so it’s worked out cost neutral.

I’ve still got a stone to lose to be at the weight I’d be happy to maintain at.

I had my first injection last night and have a bit of a headache, nothing else so far.

Is the 2.5 an effective dose or is it recommended to increase the dose after the four weeks? I'm not overly bothered about losing the weight quickly, as long as it assists my weight loss, I'm good with that

I'm in my second week and as long as im losing I plan to stay on 2.5 and move up as and when I feel it beneficial to do so. Some people stay on 2.5 until they reach target, others move up every 4 weeks.

The increasing strength after each month is to build up your body's tolerance to the side effects, so you're getting the appetite suppression without it being too severe on you.

Gradual and steady progression towards stronger doses and effective steady weight loss, while those tolerances build up.

I also see it as training yourself to be able to eat healthier (smaller) portion sizes and that becoming the norm for you, so you don't yo-yo losing then gaining weight after you get to your target weight.

Everyone is different. Some people stay on 2.5 for months. I did 4 weeks on 2.5 and the. I’ve had 5mg for the last 3 months. Moving upto 7.5 for the next pen. I’ve lost just over 4st since second week of March ☺️

So just to give everyone an idea of my experiences on MJ, here is where I am up to so far!

I started on 26/05, so I'm just over 6 weeks in. I did the first 4 weeks on 2.5mg and I've had 2 x 5mg so far.

My starting weight was 16st 2lbs (102.7kg). No 6 weeks in I have lost 2 st 2lbs (13.7kg) and weigh in at pretty much dead on 14 stone. My BMI has dropped from 32.8 to 28.2.

I feel much better. I've dropped sizes in all of my clothes, feel like I have more energy, I don't get hangry any more, and I generally look and feel a lot healthier.

Side effects have been minimal for me. I read a lot before I started and had some worries about living with toilet issues etc, but the only things I experienced were slight headaches and broken sleep when I started. These were due to the fact I wasn't drinking anywhere near enough water and now I am back up to a reasonable amount and taking an electrolyte tablet each day I'm golden.

Cost wise, I'm spending around £110-120pm on the injections depending on the dosage using discount codes where possible or referrals, and I can categorically confirm that I save more on food than I spend on the injections. If cost is something that is putting you off starting you really should keep this in mind.

What will it be like when I want to come off? I don't know. I have found myself making healthier choices when out and about with work, picking the food which isn't so bad for me, only eating what I need and not clearing up the plate, turning down the pint with dinner. Hopefully these are the things that will stay if I stop using the medications.

Personally for me, it's working great and doing exactly what I want it to. While it might not be for everyone, and everbody will likely have a different experience with regards to results and side effects, I think it's definitely worth a look into.

If anyone wants to know more, or is looking to try it and wants a referral code which will get them £40 off then feel free to slide into my DMs.

Very well done!

I'm 4 injections in and have lost just over a stone already which I'm delighted about. Next weigh-in on Friday.

Still on 2.5, its working so not looking to move up to 5.0 just yet.

It really is a life changer. A long way to go for me yet but it's changed my approach to food massively, and I feel a better person for it.

Some of the reported weight loss on here compares with the same as following slimming world (other fat clubs are available). I don't think I child handle the injections or the cost of Mounjaro.
