Classy Bar in Glasgow

I'm looking for a bit of help for a friend of a colleague. I thought I'd ask here,as there are a lot of local people. I can't advise, as I'm the type that relies on Wetherspoon places and the Counting House was shot down almost immediately.

The FOG (Fiend of Colleague) is having a weekend in Glasgow with his girlfriend for an upcoming gig, and she's booked a hotel and restaurant for them, but he's wanting to take her to a nice bar or two. A cocktail bar has been suggested.

Can anyone reccomend any classier places (that aren't a Wetherspoons) or cocktail bars?

They need to be fairly central and short-walkable from near Central Station, as that's where their hotel is, and the guy walks with a stick. He can apparently manage to walk for about 10 minutes before he needs to sit down.

Thank you in advance.

Another vote for Champagne Central, well located and it's a lovely bar.

The Citizen on St. Vincent Place is really classy and not too far from Central Station.

The last 2 posts are exactly where I would go.

The Corinthian piano bar is probably the most intimate and puts you in a nice part of glasgow.

There is also “the absent ear” a dutch themed reservation only, speak easy that we have yet to try but high on our list.

It’s not as good as I had hoped it would be. AFS is a nice wee intimate cocktail bar but it’s just outside of town

Malo at the bottom of Bothwell street is a very nice wine bar, it's literally 2 minutes from the station. Only drawback is it's stair down to it, so don't know how that would be with his stick.

Champagne bar at central, the alchemist or browns at George square would be our top choices

We’ve also had a good night at the new cocktail bar that was sarti’s on renfield st.

Whistler on the green is ideal for a wee quiet drink, grubs okay plus you can go for a stroll on the green.

If mobility’s a issue get a taxi there
