Its a word that I keep seeing on here,

I haven't googled it yet. So I stand corrected I'f wrong. when I see cliques it suggests to me

Exclusion. And IN MY OPINION. I just dont see it in here . Maybe I just nieve.

Oh google is my best friend, though I do know what a clique is. It's very normal with social development in any setting from a young age to adult age. Every site there's complaints about cliques but its always people that do not join in normally complaining about "cliques". I just see it as people who speak more often to one another therefore have a closer friendship on chat.

I get why some people might see fab as having cliques but when I came back in January after some time away, I started coming into the forums and was welcomed with open arms. But maybe it's because I'm a loud, outgoing person who finds it easy to join in. If you are a shy retiring type then I can see why it could be daunting but I don't think it's a clique.

Cliques. Theres always gonna be some in any place where people socialise. Ive seen examples in chat, on the forums and also out at socials lol its inevitable but nothing bad.

The only thing that annoys me a bit is when theres one group of people at a social who dont make the slightest effort to chat to anyone outside their group. Everyone has their reasons for doing things I supppse tho

As long as folk are having fun and happy, whp really cares about anything else?

I like to chat to everyone but I can be a bit shy at first, and to have a group of people all sitting together not even looking at others.....well, its intimidating and not easy for anyone to approach.

Cliques share in jokes, look down on outsiders, and USUALLY congregate around a "Queen Bee". The difference here is that there are a few "Queen Bees".

They also commonly include one member who is the butt of many of their in jokes, but this person is so desperate to be part of things they put up with this treatment. They even make fun of themselves, and play up to the in jokes, in an attempt to be accepted.

Most people "grow out" of cliquey behaviour after school, although some see the need to carry it on, through clubs & societies, particularly where there is some degree of exclusivity.

Another thing most cliques have in common, is their inability to see that they are a clique.

There are definitely cliques. But it's not something that bothers me. (I've no interest meeting them).

The issue is that some of these cliques are like a pack of wolves. Often using the word 'we' in their postings as though they are speaking on behalf of the whole of fab.

As long as one doesn't rise to their bait, it should be ok.

This is my opinion nobody else's;

It's quite obvious who you are talking about but you have made a couple of mistakes in your statement. We are not a clique merely a group of people who are friends on here, we never have excluded anyone, never looked down on anyone and its not some kind of special club, if it was we would have shirts printed but we don't.

The are Chic Cliques, Geek Cliques, Freak Cliques & every other sorta Clique you want to label. You're usually in one of them & out of the rest (tho sometimes yearn to be in the most popular one or one which you secretly/subconsciously wish you had the attributes of). The majority of people gravitate towards a collection of people who hang out together regularly (wishing to be a part of that collective). Otherwise they wouldn't be online & visit looking for it.

Some folk like their own company & are quite happy with their own company but will still have times when they seek that connection/communication with others & come online in search of scratching that itch or feeding that need.

Others who don't feel part of that clique may leave provocative posts just to get that attention. Ironically they are distancing themselves from the very people they long to connect with.

In all the years I've been online I've been fortunate enough to be welcomed by practically every clique or group that I've communicated with. So the Bollox I read about cliques doesn't normally register with me.

In the month or so I've come to this Forum I've been almost universally accepted for my sexuality, humour, forthright & at times direct comments & outgoing personality. Maybe I'm one if the lucky ones that gets accepted for being who & what I am. I don't hide behind anything & will always give a considered response to a serious topic, & (I'm told) humorous ones which gives people the fun that this site should be about.

So... When it comes to Cliques. Pick one, join in, be yourself or don't. It's really THAT simple.

basically the threads are being run by a queen. Some other guy is acting dumb to get freinds. And theres lots of cliques to join you just need to pick one. Two guys earlier kept agreeing with each other, but they weren't a clique, one back tracked the other panicked cos he Didnt know wot side of fence to sit on
