I know this has probably been asked a million times over but I am wondering what peoples opinion is on the best club to go to for a first visit?

We are a shy couple and will probably just want to explore and maybe chat to some people for the first visit. We want to feel relaxed.

Ive hear a couple of place are quite cliquey and we’d like to avoid that too.

Thanks

Only way is to attend them all on different nights until you find one you like. Every club is different and clientele varies from night to night too.

I agree, each club has its own vibe, CJ's is great (not been since rejoining last year), some clubs in years gone by like Aberdeen and After8 in Edinburgh were great and normally got a good crowd

we’ve never done a club either but it’s something we do want to do cjs couples night is what we’re looking at for our first club . We’d also just be interested in socialising on our first visit

I’d recommend going along to After Dark on one of their social event nights. You’ll get a chance to chat to plenty of people and there’s stuff like a quiz as an ice breaker too.

We went to afterdark a month ago for our first club night - just on a normal Saturday. We were super nervous but we were shown around by the lovely staff and chatted to some other couples. We built up so much nerves going but they evaporated away within minutes. No pressure to play or do anything - we had a ball. Can't wait to go back. We posted we were going and some lovely folk got in touch to say they would come and say hello and they did. Now we have no worries or fears about going to a club. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did. Cute profile btw x

Thanks all for the advice and reassurance.

I guess its not something we will be doing regularly due to having a family, so wanted to see if there was one that was more suited.

Looks like its either and Edinburgh or Glasgow trip

If your going on a road trip call down to CLUBF in Newcastle as we are having a newbie weekend

Friday is for everyone and Saturday are for couples. Most clubs do newbie night so look at there profiles to find out .

We don’t like clicks I our club so we and the staff talk to everyone.

We are happy to answer any questions about clubs too

Id recommend CJs, specifically the couples and single women night, it's a bit more chill than the fun for all. The next one is next Fri, we're booked in

Best advice is remember it is your fun. Not anyone you meet at a club. Take it all at your own pace and enjoy it xx

For my first Uk club I went to Club Play in Blackpool as I didn’t want to have to worry about bumping into someone I recognised for my first visit. Now I’m much more relaxed about it! Maybe going to an organised social first would help as these are all very relaxed and you’d get to meet some people that attend clubs and maybe see a friendly face on your first visit! There’s also group chats that are great for getting to know people before actually going to a club. Feel free to message me privately for info 😁

Thanks "

Fantastic night at After dark last night for the Gatsby burlesque party. Was crazy busy and everyone made a real effort with the fancy dress.

I've heard people say that our friends group is clique before, but we are definitely very welcoming of new people and go out of our way to talk to people we haven't met before.

If a group of people that know each other well are all in a club together though, they're hardly going to not engage with each other.

We had that same attitude about clubs. Since joining telegram and kik groups set up for theme nights we’ve found it’s anything but clique.

Yes you might see a group of regulars that all know each other but they’re usually the ones that are first to chat to new people

Completely agree with the above.

Its only a clique if you dont introduce yourself.

Not everyone goes to a club to play but they all go to meet new and interesting people.

Everyone we have ever met has always been welcoming and inviting!

This is really not accurate man. Go along and find out.

If anyone wants to go and has some nerves, get along to the pre-drinks that so many canners arrange in the forums or updates.

AD has so many theme nights organised by some of the nicest people you could meet, Cjs is similar.

Don’t bother with Chinese whispers, just go along. What you put into the scene you get from it

Being shy and tentative is all part of the journey, don’t ever be embarrassed or feel the need to explain those emotions. I still get nervous before events, socials and meets.

Get an email sent over to a club, pop along to a pre-drinks and you will honestly have a great time. Some of the best people I’ve ever met are from the scene. Have fun guys
