I was chatting to a female from a couple I know and she was saying when she doesn’t feel confident she posts a photo on here and it gives her a wee boost due to the fabs and comments she receives

I’m completely the opposite. When I’m feeling less confident I’m more likely to hide my profile and not chat to anyone.

How do you use fab when you are low on confidence?

I get both sides of where you and her are coming from.

On the one hand, who doesn’t like a compliment.

On the other hand, a lot (not all) guys will say anything in here if they think it’s an in so it’s not all genuine.

A woman could post a picture of a dinner woman in waders , Smurf face paint and a clown hat sitting doing an excel spreadsheet and you’d still get guys telling her it’s the sexiest thing they’ve ever seen.

And likewise if you’re not overly confident, putting yourself out on fab (especially as a man) can probably dent it further if you don’t get the response you hoped for or mean messages.

Confidence is a fickle thing with me. Sometimes I'm top of the world and then I'll go into a black hole. When that happens I'll hide my profile for a bit and in the most extreme case delete it entirely.

I don't really get ego boosts from fab personally.

Before I joined fab my confidence was rock bottom. Long marriage where my ex never gave me any attention or compliments. Chatted to a guy elsewhere who told me about this place and said it would do wonders for my confidence. I joined and posted my very first pic on here just me in a black bra and the attention I got was absolutely ridiculous. Like 900+ messages in one day from a pic of a bra. Fast forward through the last few years and I do think fab boosts my confidence if I’m not feeling the best in myself, but I’m also boosted by some amazing people I have met along the way who made me realise I am attractive and sexy even when I never felt that way about myself before. I can imagine though it’s very different for men as generally it’s the men who do the fabbing of photos the most, and I’m also very aware that a lot of men will say anything if they think it will work

I think everyone has good and bad days where you feel very confident and capable, and other days where it dips. It's normal! Fab definetley doesn't boost my confidence at all. If anything ill take myself offline and practice self care and be kind to myself as I would to others.

Did he compliment you initially and then stopped as the relationship progressed or was he never someone that really gave out compliments.

I’m not great at complimenting people. It’s something I’ve never really done and it’s something past partners have had an issue with. I just feel really uncomfortable giving people compliments and I don’t know what to say when people give them to me.

He was never the best at it, but it’s really difficult when say we were going out and I had made an effort and it’s like he didn’t even notice. I just ended up always feeling really self conscious and like he didn’t fancy me. It was hard and did affect me a lot and how I felt about myself when I became single again
