ipad repairs

Ive just smashed my sons ipad screen , does anyone know where it can be repaired quick and idea of cost , thanks

Glasgow

Take it to the Apple Store in Glasgow or Braehead and they'll tell you how much it'll cost.

If you go onto the support area of the www.apple.com/uk you can check the serial number and see if it's still under warranty.

Google irepair Glasgow... About £100 but they might be able to do it same day, based in Finnieston.

Try the apple store first, just be honest and say that you tripped over the dog and dropped it, they're sometimes good when you're not lying.

Back it up first if possible because I don't think Apple repair screens, they would possibly swap for a refurb if you are lucky tho! If not its the out of warranty price which will depend on the model.

Apple after care service is generally brilliant. They would probably just give you a refurbished one at a cheap price. Everything on it should update once you plug it back into the computer where your iTunes is stored.

This ^^^

Also, bear in mind if it is still under warranty and you get it repaired elsewhere your warranty is invalid if anything else goes wrong

If you have to pay for a replacement from Apple the current prices are...

iPad model Out-of-Warranty Service Fee

iPad mini £216.44

iPad 3rd, 4th generation £256.44

iPad 2, iPad £206.44

There are 2 stores in Glasgow so maybe if you don't have luck at one try another!

Used these guys a few times and can't recommend them enough first class service and quick too and prices are very reasonable

I had mine replaced by Apple after smashing the screen and it was £135. They replace it will a reconditioned one but it is perfect. They say that they cannot fix the screen as such due to the way they are built and it would compromise the internal workings. They also guarantee it for a period after replacement as well so it is much better to go to Apple directly.
