I've got a week off in November but nothing booked yet. A bit of time away myself would be great but never had a solo holiday so interested to hear experience and recommendations from others.

Go away alone quite often, any where that takes l my fancy. Weekends away or holidays abroad. I have lived alone for years so feels natural really. There are always friendly people to spend time or chat with.

I just won a holiday through work, it's with people from other parts of the UK within the company that also won and are going - nobody I know though so kind of alone, kind of in a group, still not sure how to feel about it but I am super excited!

Went on a solo persons ski holiday a few years back. About 12 of us in a chalet that were singles and of a similar level. Most of us all got on with the exception of a couple of bellends but was an enjoyable holiday and would do it again if none of my friends are going.

I have only done solo travel as an adult, don’t really go anywhere fancy, I travel for work so seen a lot that way, for holidays I have done London many times, love to go see shows etc, I also go to comic cons so have been to a couple city’s for then, Newcastle, Cardiff and London.

I have not had the courage to go to restaurants solo yet, I will get takeaways or fast food joints, prefer to stay in apartments like AirB&B or aparthotels, hot had much fun with fun while away, had a couple of meets but that’s about it

I spend a lot of time traveling on my own. I absolutely love it. I prefer Europe as a destination. Longest trip was 11 weeks.

I don’t get bored as I love to experience the local culture and history.

If it’s new to you traveling alone take small trips to places were you can indulge in your interests. Build it up from there.

I went to Germany twice on my own. Booked the flights, trains and accommodation myself. Not a package. It was great and liberating.

You can do what you like when you like. I fell asleep after travelling for a few hours and it was great as I wasn’t needing to take anyone else into consideration.

You’ll have a great time.

Love travelling on own but also adding in some group activities, maybe a cooking lesson, wine tasting etc where others will join. Also good just to flop on a beach with a book!

Thailand, Amsterdam, Fuetraventura, Spain, and UK

"It was great and liberating.

This is why I'd love to go on solo trips, trying to keep others happy can be stressful, and my health sometimes makes me need naps or has me awake at all hours. But, I just don't feel safe enough to travel alone outwith the country.

Travelled the world twice on my todd. It's amazing in your younger years but these days I'd so much prefer to travel with my gf wife to be etc and have that person to share it with. When I travelled years ago on my own I met thousands of people that I'd not have met if I'd been travelling with a partner, plus you get to Go to and do exactly what you want. Big advantage.

Oh eh, the chaos as there's a rush to join the mile high club en-route, the stampede for the dogging spot behind the hotel, the incident where someone mistook a vanilla couple enjoying a pineapple snack as an invite to strip off, and the need to mop the poolside again after another group session..

I'm in!
