Yes I think so too - I would love to do more dating but I got rid of tinder etc just as I found it so boring and rarely got any decent conversations. I want romance, passion, mutual attraction, chemistry, dates and adventures. Someone who matches my effort and brings as much to the table as I do. I don't think that's asking for too much, infact to me it should be the minimum everyone is searching for " Oh the list of demands that are made on profiles. makes it a slog or it felt like a slog for me. Some women around my age looking for men that had no ties for holidays etc or don’t be this or that.. The matching and messages, so you actually don’t really get to a point to say ‘go for a coffee/chat?’ My experience with it was that you don’t actually get to dates as the way it’s set up with the dating site is to maximise your time looking rather than get you to an outcome where you can do the dates or adventures or find chemistry or passion. Sort of fruitless endeavour and agree with those that say prolonged exposure to dating sites can be not good for mental health I do not particularly want to settle for anything either but, it’s also pointless being in the shelf of a dating site | |||

Did dating sites before fab and it’s just a load of weirdness really and im guessing a lot of people I saw in it two or three years ago will still be there with their sky high demands and expectations. I wouldn’t say any site is any better and simply not worth it in terms of time and headspace I'm not sure about sky high demands and expectations but personally I refuse to just settle. With the remote to myself🤣" Same as Ms Wyld and Sassie, this is the bare minimum, having tried dating I'm back to just having fun. If it comes along its meant, but it should upgrade your life. I've stopped trying to make sense of people. The right people will get your kind of crazy. I'd rather be a vibrant ball of energy, not a dimmed light in the corner. Men who dont play mind games, and just say what they mean are attractive. No drama, just me and someone whose actions echo there promises. Someone whose heart is a big as their sense of humour. Someone who keeps the bare minimum away from me and who shows up with passion. Sometimes what doesnt work out for you, really does work for you. 2025 is all about effort without forcing. If its not meant to be, peacefully let it go. Life's far too short, I'd rather spend that time with real connections with friends and family and doing all the things I love. I have been so much happier single than in some realtionships, so I will choose being happier every single time. It's good to have boundaries and know your own worth. | |||

With the remote to myself🤣" I may have expressed it wrongly or been taken wrong way but from what I saw on internet dating sites from quite a few profiles of women around my age wasn’t appealing in terms of what they said and how they said it. Probably not what I was looking for in terms of building my own confidence again and basically to try and get dates and see if there was a connection or not. Of course, I understand what you and others are saying in tenant of self worth and that’s entirely fine. But some of the things I saw were jaw dropping lists of demands and guys my inevitably will be parents or have went grey etc etc | |||

"Spot on for me this , so many of us will be looking for the same thing but going about achieving it is harder than it should be, on dating sites no one wants to put out there that a regular guy or girl who's after dating and a connection is built would be up for the things that bring us here because it brings such a negative response most of the time. What I think is a good idea is to arrange a singles speed dating event where people who might not get the reply message back from a profile they liked for what ever reason, the chance in person to spark a connection 1st | |||
