At this special time of year

Please spare a thought for the friends not here

the friends we`ve loved

the friends we`ve lost

the ones we`d fight for..

no matter the cost

our friends we fell out with over a silly fight

our friends we used to talk to each and every night

our friends abroad fighting a dumb war

for reasons somehow we`ll never know what for

our friends taken too young all before their time

the ones taken from us,cut down in their prime

they maybe gone from this earth but never from our hearts

so please spare them a thought

for we`re never apart!!

very touching, fitting words for christmas n new yr....

I don't have close friends who are involved with the forces abroad but the rest of it remin me what I have lost in last two or three weeks alone, or miss

friends who have passed away suddenly, friends who r seriously ill that I can't b nr, family I can't see this yr, a huge blow out wi my best friend who has now deleted me from his life, literally...

I'm sure everyone can find a reflection of some kind in ur words

Truly wonderfull words Zed!

It puts into perspective all this rushing about, buying trash for people we feel we need to, but with no sentiment!

The commercialisation (spelling?) of "Christ"mas has taken away from the sentiments echoed in those words...we all need to stop just for a minute and think/remember/call those close to us and just say hi! the rest will follow. Or stop and remember those no longer here for just a second or three!

I found it particularly hard this year for some reason, when writing the gift tags and addressing to Mum & Dad for Pip's folks and only Mum.. for mine...Buts thats been nearly 5yrs now.

It only takes a wee second to remember....but a lifetime to forget! xx
