Yeah it can be steep - it’s a flat £5 fee generally, unless it’s a really heavy item. Bulk buys make things much more economical.

It’s Polestar Records on Facebook - it’s a group, rather than a page

We do. Depending on what you are looking for you can often pick up bargains in charity shops. Especially ones like Oxfam who have dedicated book and music shops. A lot of old classics that people are getting rid of from old relatives houses etc.

Sadly a lot of charity shops are losing the plot with vinyl pricing nowadays. I love a bargain while helping a good cause but so often now they are overcharging for vinyl in poor condition. The Oxfam specialist shop in Edinburgh's Stockbridge is a joke. The staff wouldn't last five minutes if they were doing it for a living

Lots of CD bargains to be had right now though. Everyone is ditching them. I simply don't like digital platforms and I like having something in my hand (ooh er!)

Definitely used to be the case, but so many shops now don’t know the actual value of a record or how to grade it - I haven’t seen any “bargains” in charity shops for months. Unfortunately they tend to think big name band therefore worth a bit - that’s rarely the case in reality!

If you have a look back through the group posts, there are a load of CDs on there as well as records from a collection he bought.

Noticed a lot of charity shops seem to think that All Vinyl = Valuable when it's not

If you have the time to look properly you can get some serious bargains in the CD sections

Love a bit of vinyl. Hard to find bargains now. Still find some at the car boots.

I am enjoying buying new artists on vinyl too.

Go to a charity shop and see if you can buy an old stereo, thats where I got mine. Full Sony system with Turntable 5 disc cd changer etc for 30 quid!

Love buying records. Cant beat record on, cuppa or a few drinks listening away. Pure bliss. Agree with the comments about many charity shops. But some bargains about also x

I did one of my charity shop routes this afternoon. Vinyl was pretty much dross except an original Mono copy of The Everlys Brothers - Beat & Soul in really nice condition which I was happy to pay £5 for.

I also got 15 CDs all at £2 or less. Highlights were Charlie Mingus - Folk Forms in a 3 for 50p

selection and surprisingly a King Sunny Ade album on Masterdisc Nigeria. You don't see many of them kicking about. Some nice book bargains too made for a decent afternoon's loot

Worth checking out Auctions if there's one nearby. I've found some bargains there or if buying new Richer Sounds are always helpful and decent prices

There’s certainly some of that in the group, but not my thing so I don’t have a lot of knowledge of it!
