Hi all, we are in Edinburgh this Sunday for just one night. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant close enough to the castle?

All over

Really depends on your budget.

The Witchery is beautiful and just down the Royal Mile is Angels and Bagpipes.

You also have Cafe Andeluz on George IV Bridge which is really nice Spanish tapas

Edinburgh

If you're wanting to push the boat out on "fine dining", The Witchery is right there.

More reasonably priced and round the corner on George 4 Bridge is The Outsider (European menu).

La Garrigue in Jeffrey Street, near Waverley Station, can be relied on if you like French cuisine.

Located above La Garrigue at Waverley Bridge, the Scotsman Hotel's Grand Cafe restaurant is set in a fine room of classical style, also good.

Glasgow

If you’re about Rose Street, Wildfire is a great steak place. Chilled atmosphere and great food.

Kyloe at the west end is a steakhouse, but amazing food, but very pricey
