FabSwingers.com forum: better to be ugly than fat?

i remember sharon osbourne some years ago discussing how fat people are looked down upon more than any other group of people in society and how it is more acceptable to be a junkie these days.

and i have to say, since ive piled on a bit of beef in the last couple of years i can see her point completely. its frightening how attitudes towards you, particularly from the opposite sex do change.

i expect a lot of folk on here to say it doesnt matter as women who are heavier build have no difficulty getting meets on here at all, as guys are happy to go with them, which is great. in the real world and from a males point of view it is quite different.

and i would expect some men of a higher BMI to step in and say the opposite to try validate themselves, however i think the opposite is probably mostly true.

plenty of average or less attractive men getting laid, not so many overweight or fat guys.

is it slim or average on here nowadays or nowt at all?

ps. sorry about the title, i know both fat and ugly can be words that are quite hurtful, just trying to emphasise a point for discussion

How cruel a fate it would be to be afflicted by both lesser socially acceptable attributes,mind you it's even worse so if that were the case for a guy as women would still get laid irregardless of their weight/looks.... A fact that is demonstrated amply on this very site

There are a lot of people on here with no standards sadly,but im pretty sure id know if someone was with me just for the sake of a shag rather than them being with me because they actually liked me

and as for ugly,,well everyones take on ugly is diffrent,,,some might see and ugly guy/girl,,,while others might look and say,,wow!!!

I'm probably not in either the fat or ugly category though I have my own limitation to deal with in that I'm gay & fussy as heck. My point there is that we all have traits which are not going to appeal to a number of folk on these sites. However, I accept that my sexuality is not going to be to everyone's liking, that slim might not compete with athletic, & that my age may not be the ideal age group for some folks tastes or preference. That said, I have no problem attracting friends & Meets with a variety of people from M/F/Cpls/Str8/Bi tho I rarely connect with other gay people oddly enough. I chat, cam, get to know someone before we agree a meet as I'm very selective & like to know they have a personality & some charisma to ensure some sexual chemistry. Being sociable (chatting or attending Socials or exchanging opinions in Forums) has stood me in good stead & even changed some people's opinions that I'm one of the good guys, can hold a conversation, & have a degree of intelligence & not just treating folk like slabs of meat. Perhaps my personality makes them overlook my sexuality, the fact I'm not athletic, & a positive outlook goes a long way to show I try not to discriminate. I still prefer my Meets to be fit, handsome & sociable but I have had my own opinions swayed by larger folk, women, & folk not originally on my radar... Because I've got to know them beforehand rather than think I'm lowering my standards for a chunkier guy, or a girl, or a slightly older than my usual 25+ age group, or simply see it as getting my leg over for the sake of it. So in conclusion I try to live by the following: love your own traits for what they are, don't see slim/fat as a limitation or negative quality, love yourself & all your shortfalls, & be interesting, engaging & unique. Oh & ugliness can be something you don't automatically see on the outside.

Hope this helps & gives some interesting things to consider for people who doubt that there are folk left on the site for ya.

Lacking a bit off self confidence, until u read your profile, you seem quite confident in that. So the (fat)thing hate that word. If you ate really that unhappy mate do something about it, an not being harsh just speaking from experience, 3 years wwith weight watchers

Counting points saving points fir weekend so I could have a Chinese. Go walking, running something build your confidence up from inside. The thin guys always get the birds

its just an observation really irnbru mate. as someone who used to have a good physique thanks to hours spent in the gym nearly everyday, but has now gotten out of shape i have seen this attitude shift happen with my own eyes.

that is peoples prerogative though to seek out what they desire, so its not a complaint as i may have been guilty of this myself. i certainly don't feel the need to run out and start training again though in order to satisfy anyone else expectations or needs of me..... like you said after reading my profile i am more than confident in who i am.

however it did occur to me from reading this site that if you get on alrite with someone but dont quite fancy them, this can be overlooked and a sexual meet still take place. on the other hand, personality isnt enough where you have someone who is overweight, you dont see this being overlooked so much.

i`m of the rounder persuasion,,, but carry it well apparently....however have had a couple of meets decline fun as i was " too fat" it absolutely enraged me.... one of them was trading herself on fab with a pic that musta been 10 years old.... her flat had hygeine standards that merited a tv show... yet i was " too fat" .. i`m quite happy how i am... i think theres way too many people on here looking for the " 50 shades o shite" ideal man, mr hollywood,male model types.... lighten up folks we are on here for FUN!!!

I wouldnt take it to heart hun,some will like you some wont and im sure your the same yourself with people .

Everyone just needs to do whats right for them but i for one would never be rude to anyone over how they look fat or thin.

been there several times myself in this site, but i have met some nice people and some crude arrogant ones, but at the end of the day people have the right to see who they want.and lastly not every over weight person is that way because they eat to much or dont excercise it may be health related son for the people who are nasty to heavy people please bare that in mind.
