On the back of a bbc Scotland show/documentary and a few experiences last summer. We would love to get a small group of other couples, or singles, interested in wild swimming across the south of Scotland. A freezing dip followed by a warm cuppa and then who knows in time……

We have no real experience in this, but up for trying something new!!! Any interest drop us a PM!!!!

We were at the fairy pools a couple of months back, absolutely stunning. Been using the cold tub recently. This is definitely something we're interested in.. X

Been to the loch at top of grey mares tail swimming. Coldingham bay, fairy pools about 25 years ago before it became popular. We used to do lots of wild swimming in rivers and streams off the beaten track. Also done skinny dipping if we climbed certain mountains. Pittenweem has a large outdoor swimming area near the cliffs, definitely lots of fun and danger.

Hehe, I actually went to Elie yesterday cos a FWB had watched the show and wanted to go see the lighthouse

Pittenweem and Edzell River are excellent, but my fave is the waterfall at Tarfside - beautiful little pool and a lovely walk location also!

Or never it’s always freezing but refreshing after the walk to the loch. Definitely worth a walk to this loch even if your not swimming it’s very impressive place.

Live up here in Inverness & am a keen hill Walker & wild swimming. Love a good skinny dip in secluded places I go to around Inverness from fresh water Lochs to the sea. A few places I can sunbathe nude also at certain places. Would be very keen on this

Some sunbathing photos on my profile

Definitely a great area, a bit to busy with the Nc500 but if you go at certain times you won’t see a soul.

Yeah I totally understand why some locals hate tourists. It's just so beautiful. I love all the art and craft shops with home made soaps etc I could spend a fortune! Can't wait to go again

I remember going up Durness in mid 80s don’t think they knew what tourists where definitely easy to get carried away spending. Smoo cave hotel is good the owners are nice, Saturday nights can be great with the locals after closing time then the party begins lots of musicians and good crack.

I’m sure there is lots of wild swimming clubs, would be a good idea to do this. You could always just go to your nearest beach yourself lots of people do this.

This time of year it is advisable not to swim in the sea alone

I've just started looking for places when I'm out and about driving up and down the country.

I love naked walks in nature and always seek large forests with paths. Swimming is the next thing I guess.

Only thing is be very careful folks the amount of rain and increase in river levels and dangerous currents is a big worry. Stay safe
