Are these a thing off the past or are they more suited by older peep as i do notice there seems to be loads off people that head off to Clubs. Now i av nothing against Clubs as i think they have a part to play in this life style but sadly there not my thing ( Cunni).

Any views constructive ones appeal more to us but understand negatives ones too

I've been to the odd house party and loved it; I can imagine though that most prospective hosts would be wary of an open invite, and trying to confirm enough couples that you know and trust to all make it on the same date would be like herding cats. It's hard enough with vanilla activities!

The clubs are not for me

Been to house parties, social and or fun and all been brilliant, always a great laugh, chat, banter and some amazing fun. Always hard to organize as some will pull out /fakes etc.. but if our carefully and get the right people and the right house for the party then an amazing night has and can happen

We like hosting the odd party but usually invite people we have met previously or at a club. I’m not sure I would invite people we had never met, like straight from fab

I get this about clubs and agree with why you go this way but defiantly 100% not for me. I have always found House parties I find are tremendous.

Any house party that I have been invited too, I've felt comfortable beforehand and knew they would be good. All the hosts I have chatted to and got on previously and comfortable enough to trust their judgment, so no complaints here

Any party over the years that I've been to either myself or with a partner, we've always had a brill time and the great thing is, there's no pressure for you to play

But I'm sure there's parties that are not for everyone but I can only go with my experiences

House parties are very much an active thing on Fab, they’re just not advertised in forums. I’d say I average one a month. It’s about having a good network and being trusted to show up and not flake out and be social and sexy if necessary.

I feel much safer in a club than I would at a house party.

And yeha quite right too if you feel safer there then that's the way to go, but your not 100% safe, factually

House parties can be good. I’ve been to a few in the past. I wouldn’t say they are for older people but everyone is usually the same age range so if you are older you’re more likely to get invited to a similar age range party than a party full of younger people

I also prefer house parties to clubs up here but the clubs down south and abroad are a lot of fun x

The clubs in Scotland aren’t really our thing. But the private party scene is hot as fuck. We’ve been to loads over the years and never had a bad experience.

"I feel much safer in a club than I would at a house party. "

Clubs are full of randoms. House parties you usually know about 95% of the other guests before the party starts. The hosts usually know everybody and can vouch for them all. If you’re going to parties where you don’t feel safe then you’re going to the wrong sort of party. I’d never respond to a random ‘we’re having a party’ on Fab - that’s unsafe.

Yeah rather have one that is organized for a while, the organizers know most of the party guests, obviously its hard for newbies to been seen but all it takes is a bit of luck and even get their faces out there at big social events or even if thy go to clubs but house parties definetly for me are the way to go

Manchester

Had my first experience of a party in Dublin over the weekend.

Even as a confident guy, being single and rocking up to a club has always felt somewhat daunting. I think maybe the stigma of single guys on here not having the best reputation on the whole has maybe put me off.

That party was a breath of fresh air, mix of single guys, single women and a couple. All of whom could not have been any nicer.

I might well just explore the party avenue a bit further of here before heading to a club.

Each to their own though

INVERNESS

I have hosted a few house parties, and they have always been fun, with plenty of banter, laughter and no awkwardness. Have a close circle of Fab friends, so we all know each other, with new faces only being introduced if recommended by regular party guests.

I have hosted many parties over the years. I met a lot of fantastic and reliable people. Lots and lots of fun and laughter, not just the naughty kind. There was not a bad incident in over 10 years but the last two I held I had so many last minute cancellations or people just not showing up that it just scunnered me. Such a shame really.

With kids getting older, we stick to club meets, although we would happily attend private house parties and hold parties of our own when circumstances allow.
