Recently I took some friends to 'The Meat Joint', a steak restaurant in Glasgow city on Sauchiehall street and it was superb.

The starters were to die for and the Steaks were just pure class with exceptional sides. friendly staff, not too over baring but made you feel welcome and checked enough to make sure everything was Ok. Loved every bit of it from start to finish.

Yup The Bach in Dundee, a wee kiwi cafe, does the best brunch/lunch.

Milas or the Agacan for Turkish .

Rishis for an Indian.

Biderbeckes Bistro, The Gidi Grill, Bridge_iew Station, and Mas are my favourite places to go eat also.

I like to eat.

If anyone else knows of anyplace really good in Dundee to try?

I've made myself hungry thinking of places.

1 of my favs isn’t fancy, but i love going somewhere with a good appetiser menu & just ordering loads of them

Steak & Cherry on sauchiehall st just beyond the garage, as stated not fancy but the food is really good & not expensive, been regularly before nights out

Yeah View, long time sir, Mother India is excellent but there are a lot better than Mother India now in Glasgow.

I was at an Indian restaurant on Victoria road in Glasgow , called 'Kebabish Grill', (don't like the name) tons of locals go and OMG the food, everything was cooked perfectly, from starters to mains, (you can see your food being made from your table. Staff were superb and the price was Ok, will be going back, that's with out a doubt.

I eat out a lot and go to many restaurants to sample and this was just a brilliant evening, loved it

Depends on the cuisine. Regrettably, Scamp is closing on Monday for unknown reasons. However I blame the fact that a majority of people hanging around city center aren’t really keen on experimenting with creative dishes and that another shitty chain restaurant takes place. Hate chain restaurants, the death of independent chefs and small businesses. The top best for me would be as follows.

Korean - Silla in Finnieston - small, simple but the food is bonkers

Vietnamese - Non Viet, amazing warming hangover cure Pho

Indian - Ashoka or Murphy’s Pakora Bar

Balkan - Zinfandel in Strathbungo

Steak - Gaucho, the sampler is just amazing and price quality, totally worth it followed by Porter and Rye.

Pasta - Sugo

Pizza - Paesano (i know, too commercial, bla bla)

Fish - Debatable, but Crab Shak wins for me, followed by The Finnieston and what was it Scamp.

Ox and Finch is good

Worst restaurants in the last 3 months:

Rosa’s Thai - thai food made by someone who took the idea as granted reading it on Glasgow Live. Not even close to mediocre thai food. Huge No!

Another cracker

I was taken to this little Chinese restaurant and thought Ok will give it a try. I kid you not, it was like Ian Beals cafe when I went inside, everything so basic, chairs and tables

but omg, ordered the food and cooked quickly nd fresh, the food was amazing, couldn't not fault one thing and the service was quick and left you alone

loved it, It was the '|Dumpling Monkey' at the bottom of Byres road just on Dumbarton road. Loved it and been back a few times and gets better every time and price is superb.

taking someone out on a date and trying to impress, it is not but going for a meal together with someone comfortable with you, is bliss, just try it and enjoy

It's superb but I rate the Meat Joint Better. But going to any one of these for steaks you cannot go wrong.

As a single guy, I go for meals alone quite a few times, its good to have company but hey I'm not gonna be a hermit and miss out on some amazing restaurants and I've certainly been to some crackers

My philosophy is my stomach gets what my stomach wants wether its just me that goes or not or if they walk out as I'm not there type :D

We ate at Bread Meats Bread lastnight in Edinburgh.

Nothing fancy, just good quality / tasty burgers and a decent beer too - perfect

In Aberdeen I would say the last times I went out and really enjoyed was maggies grill, a kind of southern American meaty type place and Silver Darling, a fancy fish place - I’m not normally a big fish fan but gorgeous! Nom nom nom, I’m hungry now

Not a restaurant as such, but there were tables and seating……. Best meal out I’ve had is still the Fort Fish and Chip shop in Lerwick. Last time I was there was about 11 years ago, so I can’t vouch for it now

Oh how could I forget

I ain’t a seafood lover and admit it wholeheartedly but was with clients and booked the Loch Fine Oyster bar.

This was Incredible, we order a buffet meal for 10 people. One of the best meals ever. Even if you are not into seafood like me, you must try this, food is superb and staff excellent and very helpful

Loch Fyne Oyster Bar beside Loch Fyne before you get to Inveraray

Ooooo I have enjoyed A boozy cow before, we used to have one up here but sadly closed! I think I’ve been to that same one in Edinburgh and it was delish! (Grrrrrr)
