Caution

Falkirk

Just a little word of caution for all fabbers

Just come from the main gritting depot on the m9 that deals with the central belt. They are putting snow ploughs on ALL of the gritters today ready for possible problems over the next week. Better to be safe than sorry so just keep an eye on the weather as all the depots in Scotland are doing the same

And please take care if it gets bad

Andy

Nooo, hoping not too much snow falls. Especially with the way my health is, just when you think spring has arrived. The joys of living in Scotland!

Even if it doesnt snow, low temps are forecast - potentially as low to the point that road salt doesnt work.

Generally, if road surface temp hits -6C to -8C and lower, salt simply does not melt ice/snow.

Sunday night/monday morning is forecast for below breezing with added windchill from a biting northerly wind - so wrap up warm for the Monday morning commute.

As with much of this winter's weather, it is conditions 10000s of feet into the sky that are creating havoc with weather forecasting model data predictions - so stay tuned to TV radio etc over the weekend. Its all very volatile at the moment
