Big enough for 3? I'm wanting to host a wee party with the option of sleeping inside it.

Try any marina locally. Also all sailing magazines, sailing today, yachting world etc, advertise boat hire.You should be able, with minimal qualifications to hire quite easily.If you have no qualifications a skipper can also be arranged.

Sweeney's Boat yard in Balloch maybe. Dunno if they hire without a qualified skipper tho or can arrange a "test drive".

What time scale are you talking about. In the process as we speak of buying one.

But yes plenty if them for hire at both Invekip and Largs marinas however they will not allow you out on one without relevant certificates and I mean RYA Powerboat level 2 as a minimum qualification.

Without that cert you would need to hire a boat + a skipper
