Hey all. Just a wee post In regards to clubs etc. have been advised by few people on here who have replied to head to a club as that is most likely to make a proper start in the scene especially single guys. Have never been and just feel a bit nervous going alone. Has anyone felt the same and overcome it or anyone in same position? Cheers.

Dundee

Use the search option or have a nosy through the clubs section, plenty of advice and tips available.

Most importantly, just be yourself

When you book in to go tell them it's your first time, they are very accommodating, I got buddied up until I was good to go around the club on my own.

It’s honestly absolutely fine. If anything more relaxed and less nerve wracking than a vanilla club.

If your glasgow based cjs is highly recommended and there’s usually a pre drinks before the fun for all and theme nights which is a smaller social before the event so kinda eases you in.

Happy to advise

Edinburgh

I attend a club on my own and know how daunting it can be. There are usually socials on and they are a good way to meet people before you go. After dark socials in Edinburgh are also held in the club so you can get a feel for the club without the pressure of play etc and then stay on for club opening if you fancy it, Staff are lovely and helpful at putting you at ease. Just go with an open mind, no expectations and being sociable.

Each club is different my lovely. But you can always message people who have been that can give you a heads up about it. I go to After Dark in Edinburgh so can help answer question about there (well as much as I can)

This is a great description - it’s going to be scary before your first time like it was for probably everyone, but once you’re inside you’ll see that people there are normal, friendly folk

Think just need that wee friendly face when you get there to make it less daunting but because we mainly look for single guys we don't know many fems or couples (because we know the girls are alot less scary than the guys)

Honestly the best way is to just jump in, I would recommend giving pinkandlittlemiss a follow and going along to their events if interested in the afterdark (edinburgh) side. They run social events and club events and usually will start a telegram group chat a week beforehand to break the ice and it makes it feel like you already know people by the time the night comes around, then you'll just be milling about talking to people! Everyone is so friendly I promise you'll be fine

I am new to all this and find the idea of a club quite daunting especially alone but I need to step out the comfort zone

Daunting is probably my sort of thought too, sort of thought about it and would like to, but a bit of ‘what do I wear/ is it okay in my own’ sort of thing.

I’m sure it’s easier second time as people say, but just that first step

That's a good idea. The socials will introduce you to folk in a non play situation so no pressure. Some are just like nights out at a pub or a private function.

Libertea has cake tho
