"what about adding a scotland socials and clubs section to the forums, that way the scottish threads dont get lost amongst the rest of the events" As above this wins. The uk is such a vast place and you just need to look at the amount of traffic that goes through the English focused forums to see it compared to the Scottish one.

"The club, events and social scene in Scotland is growing a lot and that is great to see. I hope you are all having a great time and lots of fun. We asked a few years ago about where you would like to see Scottish Club and Events being posted, it was decided to use the Scotland Forum and not the other Forums 'Swingers Club Discussion' and 'Swinging Club/Event ads' Forums, that everyone else is using. This however has started to create a bottleneck of posts with 'who is going' threads for almost every night the clubs/kink events are open. We also have 'Predrinks threads' for the same nights and on occasion 'Who went to the club/event' threads. This sometimes overloads the Scotland Forum and this may cause non club attending forum posters to miss other threads to participate. They are often duplicated, as some dates are posted well in advance and move off page 1. With all this mind, Admin have asked us to start to utilise the other Forums for some of the threads being created. We will leave Scottish events in the Scotland Forum, but can we please ask that social organisers post their threads in the events in the Meet Requests and Parties Forum, and the 'who's going' threads for the Scottish Clubs to go into the 'club discussion section'. As always, feedback is appreciated. " even without reading to END i have said this for fookin years and have been banned from forum. Lets take all Club and Events to Sections that us all timers has said it should be in on site . Plus lets us not be Elite. I SAY this without no preduice and not Reading all the Thread but this is my own OPINION.

"I’ve never understood the so-called problem with the Scotland Forum being “full” of posts about Club nights, pre-drinks, etc.; this is a swinging site, so the fact that the Scotland forum has posts about swinging in Scotland makes complete sense. What exactly are they being cleared away for? More “what’s you favourite sandwich” and “who remembers space-hoppers”, etc. threads? Or is it for more posts from desperate men - or quite possibly the police - asking for dogging locations?" I see your point there and it’s valid in one way but to redress a bit. The “daft” posts encourage people to show a bit about their humour and personality as do the more serious ones folk might discuss. I’m sure there’s many folk been attracted to someone through forum discussion. Likewise it can be a good filter to the reverse. Keeping the two separate wouldn’t be difficult to keep tabs on.

"Why not keep club events to the events section. Not just club owners. But other events in clubs for financial gain or club hosts. Socials are different as these take many forms and are not run at a profit. These can be as small at half a dozen people for a house party to a large social event. Keep these in the scotland forum as they don't usually have the duplicate thread etc issues." That’s a good idea Sassy

I understand based on _iew OP you wouldn't like your socials to be banished to mainland UK section and REALLY they shouldn't be as they will be completely lost, but what your proposing is our odd event get banished when our events are cheaper than your socials so absolutely not for money and socials are the easiest to run for profit when all you need meet vast majority time is a bar tab for free hire which is met at least half time with the token £5 drink included in your £15 reservation. What most have said is absolutely way to go without any other option if they really want to revamp the Scottish Forums. Either leave as is or create a Scottish Events Forum for clubs, private events and socials to be posted too. Best option being the creation of the Scotland Events tab as then those sick of seeing these threads don't need to see them and those interested in them don't need wade through threads that don't interest above favourite crisps etc It's the easy and sensible answer for both sides.

I’d prefer things to stay as is or a Scotland events and clubs tab but regarding your suggestion I’d say if it’s a no cost social that could stay but anything which incurs spending money to attend should be in the clubs and events area. I see a big difference between socials that you can just turn up and socialise - ie pre club meets and ones where I’m expected to pay money to attend - I think they’re more of a club/event - just I’m expected to keep my clothes on.

To be transparent I am probably bias as I arrange socials. We put them in events and pop a post here. We don't get the issue of duplicate posts or pre post event posts. Other social organisers don't seem to either. It's mainly the ones hosting for events in clubs that seem to be the issue. Maybe if the admins worked with these ones first... there are only a few of them so shouldn't be very difficult. Monitor the diffence it makes and go from there.

"Speaking as someone who helps run events, I wouldn't have any issues with using a separate Scottish events forum, in fact it would possibly be even better to have them all in one place and easier to find. Echo others in saying they'd get lost on the standard UK wide forum. Speaking as someone who also primarily uses fab to find other events rather than for chat, I don't have any issue with the posts in the current forum and equally wouldn't have any issue with a separate one. As long as they're easy enough to find. "

"Personally don't think it needs changed, we would look at the Scottish forum first for Scottish events since the main events forum is crowded with posts for south of border. Just a snap shot as of now, the Scottish forum front page just now has 3 posts at the bottom where the last post was 1 day ago. The main events forum page, the bottom post on that page was 3 hours ago, so its already full. And it doesn't look like the Scottish forum is being "drowned" in events listings when you can still see posts that have not been updated in a day on the front page. If it was to change then would rather see a Scotland only events page since we just dont compete numbers wise to the rest of UK." . Totally agree !!

"I really don't see the problem of posting them in the Scottish forum , like everything else if a post doesn't interest you don't click or post on it , seems a simple solution as you can't please everyone all of the time .. also I think it's a case of if it's not broken don't fix it .. but would defo be interesting to know how they came up with the fact of folk like these threads or not , is it a case of many complaining or just a select few ?" I have never complained about it... But I just find it strange that if someone put a post here about, say, camping or biking.... It would get moved to the camping or biking section and the person told not to do it again.... But there is a club section and a meet up section and socials section... Yet these subjects can be posted here and nothing said or done

But they all dealt with change when the mobile phone was introduced many years ago . Thats my take on it .

"When there is a separate forum for club and events it is frustrating to find 95% of posts on the Scotland forum are about clubs and events. I don't think that 95% of those in Scotland want to attend clubs or events." I’m not sure of the percentage of people who use the Scotland forum but the vast majority don’t seem to use them. Probably only about 20% (and that’s being generous) use the forums. Many people go to the clubs and do want to know about clubs and social events. The Clubs section in comparison has every club in the UK a s the Scottish events get lost. Conversely, general conversations are already held in the Lounge and other sections and forum posts are often copied in to the Scotland forum to keep it more local. It is the clubs ans socials that help to make connections and verifications for Fabbers. Perhaps View could give us an update on what is happening.

There is going to be a trial of what was mentioned in the OP, so from today the Events/Social threads will remain in the Scottish Forum and 'Who's going' threads should be posted to Swinging Club Discussion forum to see if that works better for all. We will obviously keep a close eye on how it's going and decide next steps. Thanks all. Posts by non organisers for clubs, events and socials would go to Swingers Discussion.

"Many thanks for your feedback, it's very much appreciated. Thanks all. Thanks for the update Can i request some clarification that any posts for pre-drinks before going to clubs will be found in Club Section as (who's going) subject? Just so i know where to look and others will too. Thanks x I would guess pre-drinks thread can still be posted to Scotland Forums as its a social and not the actual club event. Posts by non organisers for clubs, events and socials would go to Swingers Discussion." That's how I read it too

And already Scottish posts nearly of the page don't know how Scotland is supposed to compete with 150 plus clubs South of the borders " As explained, the events and socials connected to the events are not being moved into the event section so you won't find them in there

"Would it not be better to have a separate forum section for ‘Scottish clubs, events and socials’ that way the posts won’t get lost in amongst all the English ones and they wouldn’t clog up the actual Scotland discussion forum page?" As mentioned, we will trial the above and see how it goes. The Forum search option will be a friend to many,as searching by Club name brings up the ‘who’s going threads’ I will close this thread now. Thanks again for all the feedback
