I (M) have expensive tastes, so a lot of things...

single malt for cheap blends (although I will drink Grouse),

Earl Grey teabags (Twinings or you can GTF),

Kiwi shoe polish (none other will do)...

I have no issues with buying the shops own branded items as most are made by the big manufacturers , all they do is change labels! I know this for a fact as I worked in a factory that did just that.

I agree a few years ago I did some work in a fish factory in Grimsby . Lidl at one end and waitrose at the other , only thing different was the packaging !

I guess that does happen but I also suspect it's kind a similar to what's happening with the horse meat scandal people want to know what their buying is exactly what it says on the packaging so often go for brands they know than brands they dont xxx

That's very true but when my ex does baked gammon for the kids it HAS to come from aldi as it is always prefect for baking and has less water content
