Any1 go jogging near the glasgow green? Need to get ma arse in shape but need to be.pushed or I end the run early loo.. Any1 fancy gettin fit with me

Mind and get decent running shoes fella and not use the likes of Nike air etc. when you start running, the wrong footwear can cause shin splints and it’s an absolute bitch.

I don’t envy you though, I’d be blowing out my arse running these days

Cheers for advice.. n won't.lie not.somethin lookin forward too.. used to be abke to do a 5k easily.. these days I need to stop half way up ma stairs!!

This. All day long. Decent running shoes will honestly make things so much easier. I have a pair of Brooks Ghost 10 and they're like wearing clouds. So comfy and offer loads of support.

There's a ton of apps now that help you build up your endurance. Just remember to take it slow and pace yourself. If you have a fitness tracker, make sure and have that handy so you can track your time and distance and see how much you're improving over time. Oh and remember to warm up, stretch and cool down and stretch. If you forget once...trust me you'll never forget again

I booked an appointment at Run4It a couple of weeks ago and they fitted me for new running shoes by getting me to try several pairs and run on a Treadmill to check my gait. I’m just starting up running again but I’m about a mile from Glasgow Green

Thanks guys did a 5k during the wk in 35 mins which is pretty good I think.. cudnt walk for 2 days tho lol

Try the park runs mate. You probably won't get your hole but they are well organised and track your time and history.

did you run 5k straight off the bat without any leading training? 35min that's impressive buddy.

I've tore my reconstructed ACL so I'm I'm just sticking to the gym for now but damn do I miss running (never thought I'd say that!)
