It's crazy. I work very close to it and the queue was out onto the bypass slip road when I passed it yesterday lunchtime. I'll leave it a few days to let the novelty wear off then go try one to see what the fuss us all about. The KFC next door must have been p'd off too as the queue for KK would have stopped people getting to their restaurant.

they are nice doughnuts, they were giving away free boxes around edinburgh over the past few weeks to promote the opening but i certainly wouldnt have queued for hours to buy one!

Much better than dunkin donuts. A huge variety too. Always get some when I head south so I'm glad they've finally come north of the border. Looks like Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and livi could be next too

My sis in law used to work for them and last time we were down she gave us a huge box - most of them ended up in the bin! They were rank lol

And they are expensive

They are better first thing in the morning. Fresh glazed ring donuts fresh off the conveyer!!!! Mmmmmmmm. Even Richard E Grant had one when my boys handed them out one morning a couple of years ago. There's even a branch in harrods lol

What? Scottish people queuing for fried food? Shocker!

There was a massive queue at the end of Princes Street as well yesterday as they were giving free boxes of 12 to publicise.

To be fair they're alright but ffs, they're just donuts! We're not exactly short of sugary, unhealthy food in this country already!

I assume you can watch them on the conveyor. If you can get there when they open and get some glazed ring donuts - they are the best when still hot!!!

in the usa people just turn off the road towards the shop as they have a light system near the road and when it turns eithier red or green that means they are just about to come out of the oven ,,, mind you if you go to any gas station in the area at 8pm every night they can be bought for half price but dont think it will calm down soon the one i was in ,,in norfolk virginia has been there for many many years and they say its the same 6 times a day and has been from the day it opened and us scots do have a sweet tooth

Do-not under estimste a KK donut!!

Was on a Virgin Blue flight from Sydney to Melbourne few years back. Overhead lockers were brim full with KK such is the popularity.

30 mins into flight, Captain announces due to strict emergency quarantine laws introduced by the Victoria State government, it was illegal to import them- so would all passengers hand the KK to cabin crew.

Cabin crew come down the aisle with polybags - was a wind-up but there was a near riot

Wee tip if daring to go. Avoid drive-thru,,,folks ordering 12 diffrent doughnuts takes a time, creates a queue.

Join the walk-in queue that only goes half way round the building, much quicker,,lol

Seems the chaos is easing off. I drive past is home every night and tonight the queue was half the length it has been and the walk up queue was all inside the store instead of out the door and half way around the building.
