What's the best live gig you've been to?

Mine has to be AC/DC at the Glasgow Apollo.

Recently Muse at Wembley.

Kings of Leon after supporting U2's world tour....in the Carling Academy before they went 'commercial' haha....and UB40 in the arma-fucking-dillo....what a show they cunts put on....aye ok of other cunts songs mostly but still....top drawer gig!

My first gig was iron maiden in Edinburgh when I was 14 and I was terrified of all the hairy bikers grabbing on to me while they were head banging lol

Didn't put me off tho I also saw Dave Lee Roth that year in secc and he was FANTASTIC!

I love live music and have been to a wide variety of gigs over the years.

I would have thought Madonna at Wembly arena should have been the best at £160 a ticket but it was crap!

I don't know if I could chose the best tho - I'll need to think about it lol xx

Sigur Ros at the Academy

R.E.M. at Balloch

God is an Astronaut at King Tuts

Tool at the S.E.C.C.

Radiohead at the S.E.C.C.

Leftfield at the Academy

Godspeed You! Black Emperor at the Barrowlands

I have to agree with Preacher. It's got to be AC/DC.

I've been lucky enough to have seen them many times over the years - Glasgow Apollo, Glasgow SECC, Hampden Park, Edinburgh Playhouse, Donnington Castle, Knebworth, Hammersmith Odeon, Carling Apollo (London) and LA Coliseum.

I've seen loads more rock bands and legendary artists, including Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Elton John... the lists goes on and on. However, none of them can touch AC/DC!

Maiden in the Playhouse in 1990.

Skid Row and NIN supporting Guns n Roses at Wembley 1991 (GnR were shite).

The Killers at the SECC last year were fairly awesome too.

Unfortunately never saw his last tour.Must have seen him 5 times and never disappointed once.....and,of course The Amnesia Express were such an amazing band!!Did you know that he got his influences,and found his muse whilst living in Glasgow....rag and bone men and programm sellers at Parkhead?

REM atMurryfeild was a goodun.

But the best was

Texas at the pavilion cost me £4.50 (before they hit the big time) back up band were GUN, who were also good.

Got The Who coming up, expecting that to be the best =)

As I said earlier been to loads of concerts over the years and ive been thinking about it and I think the best ever was Robbie Williams at knebworth - the atmosphere was amazing and he interacted with the crowd all the way through the show

As I said have seen loads of groups and singers over the years but this one stands out as a brilliant day and night

I'm very lucky in that I work in a music venue and probably average about 3 gigs a week.Over the years I've worked there must have seen aroung 500 gigs...some amazing,some not bad and some down right mince!!!One of the very best gigs was Michael Mara..superb songwriter and performer.Sadly passed away late last year.RIP Michael.

I went along to see the tribute concert at.Celtic Connections.I was a bit disappointed but a few of the performanced were beautiful.My favourite is "Frida Kalo's visit to the Taybridge Bar"If you get the chance you have to listen to his last album with McFalls chamber orchestra.Exactly how they were meant to sound.

My friend and I run a stewards agency in the early 70s and we were the main security for the Greens Playhouse/Apollo, so I saw an awfully lot of bands.

The best in my opinion was David Bowie Ziggy Stardust tour, I think it might have been in 72.

However these days you are hard pushed to beat a Springsteen concert. Jim

I think it must have been 1975 when I saw a support band for Mott The Hoople who were Queen. I went with mates who were into MTH and I have to say even then Queen were better.

Love live gigs, you see how good a band really are.

Went to see Sabbath in 1977 and they were blown off the stage by a new young band...Van Halen...awesome!

The Who in their last gig at the Apollo, was said they were past it at the time but again..amazing!

Lots since but two that stick out....

All of the above including... Fleet wood Mac in Dortmund, Billy Idol at Download Festival (had to be there!) Rammstein at Donisphere (awesome) Oasis at Murrayfield, Whitesnake and Black Stone Cherry we good to see also. - cant beat live music and we are off to Download again this year 17 weeks today Woo Hoo!!!
