Being stood up frustration ??

Guess it happens to alot but always highly disappointing when it does.

We had made arrangements after speaking with a couple for a while for a meet and their profile became hidden the day before the meet and we then messaged to confirm the day before which they did. We arrived for our meet and sent a message to say we had arrived. The message remains unopened and very disappointed not a message to say sorry we can't make it or we are running late.

They seemed very genuine so a bit of a surprise to be honest. ??

So just getting that off our chest lol.

Were these people first timers? I’d hazard a guess that anyone who takes time to make contact and effort to engage only to cancel is always a first timer, it’s very easy to chat over messages and flirt but becomes very real when you actually meet. For the guys who cancel I’d bet often they are not single or playing without consent, so again very easy to stroke a conversation online and convince themselves they are not being cheaters or devious because they are not physically meeting anyone… becomes a different level if they actually follow up on it!

I’m sorry you experienced it!

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

That’s why it’s always better to arrange a social meet first .

If it’s only a social you can continue with that on your own if they don’t turn up .

Report the profile to admin block and just move on .

Don’t give them a 2nd thought

Thanks all for the encouragement. Do you think that's why they have hidden their or "his" profile now?

It was a social with time for fun afterwards if all were happy.

But we still had to manage things around though and wasted a morning. But Mrs did get some shopping done lol but was still disappointing.

Norwich this week, usually Dundee and around

Sorry you experienced this.

It happens a lot... more so for single guy profiles...

As previously suggested, block and move on.

Wasting someone's time is not polite! A simple message (even if a white lie) to say missed train/ car broke down etc...would have been courteous

Don't know how much diligence you did, but a profile for a single man purporting to be on behalf of a couple is usually a bit of a red flag, and if you're only having text based conversations it's hard to be certain who you're talking to. Could be pure fantasist, could be one if those 'surprising' their partner and it backfiring badly!

Being stood up or ghosted is always frustrating so I tend to only take a punt on taking the time if it's genuinely convenient for me and / or I have something else I can do with the time elsewise. Same way as messaging on here really - I'm reluctant to put the time in if there's a good sense it's a complete non-starter, experience has shown giving the benefit of the doubt rarely pans out!

Thanks, what I fund very rude is to not just sent a email and say sorry can't make it today, how hard it that for someone to do. Even if it was a guy trying to surprise his wife or wife changed her mind still just say you aren't coming. If its a single guy or a guy who's wife has no idea about fab then still have the decency to let the couple know no one is going to show up. But then again if that person is keeping fab a secret from his wife or is a songle guy pretending to be a couple then why would they have the decency to let us know no one is going to show up.

Yeah that a good point about ensuring you are not going to be going too much out of your way or something you can do with the time anyhow. But we, like most, have limited time and do have to plan for meets and also the time for getting ready etc.

Two reg flags were "he" was asking a few times for more revealing pics, which doesn't necessarily mean anything and only a green tick for a verified by someone else but he could have done that himself somehow I guess and he had no tick for fab verified by holding a sign with their user name etc. But that's not always the case but a potential red flag.

But ohh well. Move on I guess.

Interesting, so I’ve never met anyone in the flesh so to speak as I’m not at that point yet, just enjoy the chat. I’ve never asked for a verification as not done it although I have done the site verification. To me if it’s a genuine couple you’ve probably got one party who is not as invested as the other and gotten cold feet, if it’s a single guy stringing you along then that’s the stereotype we unfortunately encounter who give guys a bad name!!

Ohh and what does a single guy get out of setting up a meet with a couple knowing they will turn up for no reason? Is it out of spite of jealousy as can't think of any other reason for the motivation to do that?
