FabSwingers.com forum: Bumping into a known face?

Ive found this community of people really good fun to chat with and whilst I’ve never ventured into the club scene I do have a nose at the events.

What always piques my interest is the fact it’s a small world and surely we bump into people you know “outside” the scene?

How do you address this if and when it happens?

I’m just curious to hear what people think or do

You leave them alone, if they are with someone or their family or friends etc... Just smile accordingly and if both are alone and wanna chat/catch up then brill.

I'm single and before covid I was out with my daughter on a night out at the counting house and noticed two swingers in the same pub with different company, both smiled and said hiya but that was all. |Best way to be.

FFs I was standing at the veg aisle in Asda once holding a cucumber, checking the date and a swinger, 'Orgies' passed by and said, "I knew I'd catch you here" lolol thank feck I was alone

Everyone is here for the same reasons at the end of it all. I’ve an old work colleague on with her partner, we had coffee and cake yesterday, alongside various other known faces. Just don’t be a dick really.

However, if anyone emails saying hello, that they know you and won’t say who they are, just block them. It’s not worth the hassle trust me

Interesting, I meant more the people you bump into at an event who you already know rather than bumping into fellow fabbers on the street!

I met someone from my office at a kink event. Was a surprise to both of us. If anything our little secret brought us closer together. We never got round to playing together but did consider it. We're still pals years later

There are regulars who go to swinging events and people you have meet previously, some you know of, some you have exchanged messages etc... Always great to see many you know or know of.

I was at CJs for the first time and met many acquaintances from previous meets, house parties etc.. and it was a great night, having a good laugh with them all

It's never happened to me, but if it did it would depend on the situation. If they're alone and you've met them once or twice then a quick "hello, how's things?" would suffice. If you start having a full blown conversation off the back of that then happy days

If they were with anyone else I'd probably just smile, nod and walk by. No need to make a big deal out of it and I'm pretty sure the other person would respect that.

Had a guy who recognised me from rugby.

Kept messaging me at first saying I know you, I know where you work, where you live etc

Got my female friend to message him a few times, get to know him, he eventually swapped face pics with her and she showed me him.

Had a quiet word with him… the rest is history.

But I do agree if they bombarded you with messages and won’t say who they are, just block the bas*ards

Wow I’d never thought there would be an underhand style of person here. What a prick! I think the idea of rocking along to an event then spotting existing friends or acquaintances very funny and obviously not too uncommon given the size of the area and limited number of events or venues!

Being in a small town this is a real fear, I've chatted with quite a few people it turns out I know in real life, I always like to be sure before meeting, a while ago I got a message from someone who turned out to be my uncle!

Just this really, we have had plenty of people recognise and tell us over the years, if they are happy to day who they are it's always been really nice.

If they just say they know you and nothing else is not worth wasting time or sleep on it, if they want to 'out' you then they look worse at the end of the day, we don't feel we've anything to be embarrassed about.
